Very far removed from Style and Beauty, but where does one get a nice dressing gown?

I don't want a slinko sex kitten type, not least because at 5'10" they barely cover my arse
but nor do I want to look like Nora Batty - is there a middle ground?
no "fun" prints or towelling

has anyone seen anything?

...listens...I'd like one like Stella in The Fall. Cream silk

lavenderhoney · 29/11/2014 15:51

House of Fraser do lovely dressing gowns. i bought a plain grey one with a hood, very snuggly and warm, soft material, long, and not towelling or Nora Batty:)

Toast do loveky ones, but hof same and cheaper.

GertrudePerkins · 29/11/2014 15:53

I know, this weeks episode I really wanted the serial killer to get out the way when he was in her wardrobe and dressing room so I could see her clothes and make up stuff

Zara Home

FrugalFashionista · 29/11/2014 16:15

I like yukatas and nemakis. The latter has a gauzy lining that is the softest thing in the world...

orangina · 29/11/2014 16:21

I have a lovely dressing gown from Toast.... rather £££ but worth keeping an eye open for the sale.....

Jocastafantastica · 29/11/2014 16:23

I got a lovely blue kimono-style Janet Reger one in TK Maxx the other week for £12.99 bloody bargain it's gorgeous..

ememem84 · 29/11/2014 16:28

The white company. They're pricey. But lovely.

waitingforgodot · 29/11/2014 16:46

I second the white company.

AwkwardSquad · 29/11/2014 17:22

I second Toast. Much the nicest I've seen and wash very well.

ZaraW · 29/11/2014 17:24

Another vote for Toast have a look on E Bay you can get some bargains.

AlmaMartyr · 29/11/2014 20:16

I've been looking for something like this as well. Frugal- are the nemakis warm? I've been looking at them and they seem lovely.

TheGonnagle · 29/11/2014 20:23

My marvellous dressing gown is this beauty. Washes a dream, feels like a hotel robe, not too warm, not cold either, a proper length.
The best dressing gown I've ever had.

No idea I'm afraid - still haven't found the one I 'm searching for which is the one Helen mirren wore in the calender girls -loose at the back but with the usual ties at the front - think it was quite silky. Anyhow, absolutely no help at all -sorry and happy hunting!!

FrugalFashionista · 29/11/2014 21:37

Alma my nemaki is warm enough for a draughty Italian house - no heating after midnight! The gauzy lining traps warm air, in midwinter I wear it over brushed cotton pajamas. It's a curious thing - both light and warm. I've given away my other robes after discovering this.

goodasitgets · 29/11/2014 21:48

Long tall sally - I have one and so comfy, plus longer sleeves and length

Waffle type one (I think this is the one I have and it's very, very warm!)www.longtallsally.com/p/tall/superfluffy-waffle-robe-13H20#13H20CHO

Stripe cotton (comes in other colours)

Those Cologne & Cotton ones look really nice - might ask for one for Christmas!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 29/11/2014 22:12

I've got a lovely soft white one from figleaves.

SelfLoathing · 29/11/2014 22:13

Stole mine from a very lovely hotel spa.

I am not proud of myself and I know I will never go to heaven and I am very sorry but I am lovely and warm in my dressing gown
