We're into the 30 odd days until Christmas and I'm looking for some Christmas Day inspiration. What are you wearing on the big day?

Ooh I'm interested in this too, at the moment I'm trying to decide between a sequin dress opaque tights and shoe boots. Or skinny jeans , ankle boots and a sparkly top/jumper Smile

insancerre · 16/11/2014 08:40

I have no idea
Do people really think this far ahead?
Are you going somewhete nice?
I'm at home so it won't matter what I wear

carrie74 · 16/11/2014 08:47

I spent yesterday trawling shops, but came away empty handed, Instead, buying these: www.lkbennett.com/Shoes/Sandals/Arianna-Metallic-Leather-Sandal/p/BRSSARIANNAMETALLICLEATHERGreyAnthracite.

They are TREMAZE and edge up some of my old faithfuls. I also have a navy sequin top from last year, so will wheel that out again.

I am still considering a pair of pleather skinnies and a black tuxedo jacket though...

Purplehonesty · 16/11/2014 08:49

I will wear a pinky red tartan dress and knitted tights - I got it in primark and its so pretty. Mind you it's quite fitted so I might have to change after lunch!

RumAppleGinger · 16/11/2014 08:49

Pyjamas... for as long as possible.

Pollywallywinkles · 16/11/2014 08:52

Even though we will be at home we will all wear something nice. It's too early to have thought about it for this year, but during the day it will be something more casual as we will be out walking the dog, but we will dress up for dinner; for me probably something sparkly.

Mrsgrumble · 16/11/2014 08:54

A black nursing dress, new ankle boots and sparkly earrings. Due baby just before Christmas

However, if I was to choose what I could wear and no the only thing that is semi decent and fit it woud be black slim fit trousers and a black batwing sparkly top from mint velvet that I spotted last night. Spray tan :)

DurhamDurham · 16/11/2014 08:58

We are all off out to the local pub for Christmas lunch, I've bought a tartan dress from Monsoon, it's quite 'boring' but I figure I can dress it up a bit and then I'll be able to wear it for work next year.

We're travelling from foreign lands back to the welcoming arms of my family ~ very excited! We haven't been back for a few years and only have a short while so want it to be special.

Something with an elasticated waist Grin

BlueEyedWonder · 16/11/2014 17:47

Have the PILs coming to us on xmas day before packing our bags and heading off to see my family boxing day.
I've seen a red French Connection dress I like for xmas day. Would wear with black opaques and black ankle boots.
Boxing day we're going out for lunch. I bought a green dress in Topshop. It is high necked with lace detail. Again with the black opaques and ankle boots.
Hoping husband and I might get to sneak out for a couple of drinks in the evening. I'll take my pleather leggings, cream lace blouse, faux fur jacket and animal print shoes.
I love dressing up at xmas. I am not a pjs person!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 16/11/2014 17:50

A onesie, probably. Parents and inlaws are all away so it's just us, the selection boxes and plenty of gin. Can't wait.

Kikibee · 16/11/2014 17:51

Lycra tights, high vis top and a pair of trainers Grin we are going to parkrun first thing

herecomesthsun · 16/11/2014 18:05

Well my 2 year old likes the look of these but it seems a little self indulgent as we both have lots of winter clothes...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/11/2014 18:25

We stay at home, just us, so I tend to just wear either jeans and a jumper, or a jumper or jersey dress (the dresses have the advantage of having room to expand). Usually shove a 'nice' necklace on, to look as if I've made a bit of an effort.

MardyPants · 17/11/2014 21:15

Christmas jumper, with 2 reindeer on the front and some mistletoe, surrounded by red sequin love heart. From Tesco last year. Why am I the only Christmas jumper?!

GooodMythicalMorning · 17/11/2014 21:22

Mil wants us to all wear onsies or Christmas jumpers but dh isnt keen. So if neither of these, it will be a purple glittery sequin dress thing which I got ages ago but haven't had a chance to wear yet.

ElfLottery · 17/11/2014 21:33

Elasticated waist, velvet wide leg trousers and a longish tunic top I got three years ago in M&S.
Slippers.
Cracker hat.
Half pished grin, hopefully.

BadtzMaru · 17/11/2014 21:37

This jumper with jeans and uggs probably.

beaverbill · 17/11/2014 22:03

Twinklestein · 17/11/2014 22:26
