Best really dark blue skinny jeans?

These seem to be a perpetual quest for me! I'm after proper denim in a so-dark-they're-almost-black blue but that won't fade too quickly, skinny but not unforgivingly so and a waist high enough to keep my tummy under control on fat days!

I had a nice pair from New Look but they faded after about 3 washes - not surprising given the price I guess! I'd be happy to splurge on a pair if they met my wish list, do any of you style mavens have any tips for me?

I recently bought one from Next, their 360 Legging Jeans. They are more or less a skinny jean, dark wash, high waisted, and most of all super flattering because of the 360 degrees stretch material..very comfy too..not the cheapest though at £38

Link for them, www.next.co.uk/x549232s5

Oasis cherry crop.

SinglePringle · 21/10/2014 23:46

They are not cheap but my Paige jeans have been washed many times over the past two years and the dye is still inky blue and comes off on my hands.

Best I've ever found.

SinglePringle · 21/10/2014 23:47

(And they're skinny but sit above the waist)

Greenrememberedhills · 21/10/2014 23:52

Please don't buy jeans from New Look. My daughter bought some a couple of years ago, and the colour bled onto the carpets.

Dorothy Perkins indigo jeggings are fab

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/10/2014 02:15

Page jeans are fantastic

NoArmaniNoPunani · 22/10/2014 02:16

Paige (autocorrect)

eurochick · 22/10/2014 02:20

Another vote for oasis cherries.

puppy123 · 22/10/2014 02:35

You asked for best without giving a price tag so I will join with Paige supporters and add J Brand! Not cheap but amazing!

Eastpoint · 22/10/2014 08:53

Rag & Bone jeans are really good & cheaper than J Brand. I'm not sure how much Paige are as I'm not a Paige shape but Rag & Bone are around £180.

GobblersKnob · 22/10/2014 08:59

Boden johnnie b teen jeans are fantastic.

stinkingbishop · 22/10/2014 09:02

Watching with interest. I've had some of the Next ones, granted for a year of frequent washing, but they're really baggy round the bum now...do any of the ones with elastic not do this?

TheRainDrops · 22/10/2014 09:46

Thanks for the tips! I have ogled Paige jeans before in HoF but at the moment they'd definitely be out of my price range (although if they really do last then maybe not!).
I guess I am looking to spend up to £100.
gobblers there's no way my arse is fitting into teen jeans these days!! Grin

Paige are wonderful but my skinnies by them aren't the heaviest denim as they have a bit of elastane. The best heavy dark denim skinnies I have found are by an Aussie brand called Nobody (I bought them from the Dressing Room). They dye each individual fibre so in theory the colour lasts longer. Very high waisted too.

msfreud · 22/10/2014 10:08

M&S Sculpt and Lift skinnies in black blue are that colour and seem ok so far after 3 or 4 washes. I'm slightly between sizes in them though so the fit is not as good as it might be if I could more comfortably fit into the smaller size.

mycatlikestwiglets · 22/10/2014 10:09

I've bought Paige in the sale for around the £100 mark before so might be worth you hanging on!

LadyHamiltonsPussy · 22/10/2014 10:15

These ones are the best ever.

Amethyst24 · 22/10/2014 11:38

I love River Island Molly jeggings. They're more like a skinny jean, come in loads of colours and wash really well.

NigellasGuest · 22/10/2014 11:48

are any of these guaranteed not to slide down? that's a perennial problem for me.
FWIW so far the best ones I've found are from Tesco - I usually buy my straight leg / skinny jeans there. They slip down a bit but nowhere near as much as some other more expensive brands I could mention.

LadyHamiltonsPussy · 22/10/2014 13:37

The M&S oned I linked to are the only ones I can wear without a belt. But I guess it really depends on your shape.

fourwoodenchairs · 22/10/2014 15:06

I got a pair from Next recently. Really happy with them. Will try and link..

I like Mint Velvet skinny jeans (I think they're called Hudson).
Also, Hobbs skinnies are nice (though they do vary so best to try on instore).
