LindyBop Ophelia blue polka dot size 16 DISASTER

NorksAreMesssy · 17/09/2014 14:28

This is the longest of all long shots, but I am trying everything.

Today the front glass of my washing machine exploded, shredding everything inside and killing the washing machine.
Most things in the machine can be replaced except my daughter's very most favourite dress ever, a LindyBop Ophelia size 16 (she is Norky like her mother) blue polka dot dress.
It is now a pile of ribbons and glass fragments, unrepairable, even by my magical seamstress mother.

We have looked on every single possible website, Amazon, eBay, all the vintage shops, everywhere...nothing. They have the other colours, and other spotty dresses, but you know how it is when something is just utterly perfect, nothing else will do.

Has anybody got one of these LURKING in a wardrobe that they have shrunk/grown out of, worn once and hated, gone off?

I know this is a very very long shot, but we are willing to pay full price for this most beloved item.

Thank you for reading and I do hope you are all having a better day than us :(

I know it's not the same, but this girl does a polka dot dress (slimline) and a dress in the same style as the ophelia. Maybe she could make one?

GingerLemonTea · 17/09/2014 19:45

Can't seem to share link, it's Nyla Rose.....

I have one going spare but is pale gold so no use sorry. They are amazing dresses. Have you tried fb or emailing Lindy bop they were really helpful when I got in touch.

American site, not sure of sizes....

GingerLemonTea · 17/09/2014 20:17

Again not sure of sizing as maybe from New Zealand?

You totally and utterly wonderful people. Thank you so much.

I will consult with DD in the morning. I LOVE the idea of it coming from New Zealand.

It does seem mad to be so heartbroken over a dress, and not even a particularly expensive or big brand name or anything, but it was so perfect and did so many jobs.

Thank you for helping, just the thought that you have cared enough to research has cheered me right up :)

That American site ginger found says that they get them custom made on order from the manufacturer and sent out from them. So it sounds like there's a chance you could contact lindy bop yourself and see if they can help you.

NorksAreMesssy · 17/09/2014 22:40

THAT is worth a go as well, savoy thanks.
Off to email them right now

I got my bridesmaid dresses from lindy bop I think they are fab. They have a big facebook following too and respond quickly on there - good luck Smile

NorksAreMesssy · 18/09/2014 11:47

Thanks to the blindingly obvious and brilliant advice from savoy and galaxy I emailed LindyBop, expecting nothing much apart from a 'sorry' email.
They emailed back THIS MORNING saying that they are restocking that dress and it will be available next month.
Now THAT is great service. I don't actually think my request was what made them decide to re-stock Grin but i have my answer.

I am HAPPY
thank you all :)

Good news! I have dealt with Lindybop before and they are super helpful Smile

Brittapieandchips · 18/09/2014 11:52

I think I have that dress (wrong size though, sorry) and you are right, it's amazing Grin

I dress mostly in Lindy Bop - they do some lovely stuff.

harderthanitlooks · 18/09/2014 12:38

Sorry to crash your thread but I've been looking at a couple of these dresses and was wondering about the quality for such a reasonable price. I'm going to a wedding in November and wanted to feel a million dollars after a rough year. I was also looking at 20th century foxy but can't quite stretch to those prices. Are the lindy bop dresses as great as they look?

NorksAreMesssy · 18/09/2014 13:08

LindyBop dresses are AMAZING. The Ophelia ones are made of medium weight stretchy fabric. A bit too hot for summer, but perfect at this time of year.
The bargain price is just that...a bargain.
Would recommend over and over again and that is why I am making such a kerfuffle Grin

They are great. I had one of them as a bridesmaid dress (the one with the bow on the hip, can't remember the name) and it cost £30. It was decent weight fabric and held me in in all the right places. It looked stunning on the pictures and I felt great in it. I bought a hell bunny petticoat to go underneath which was also around £30 and it was very comfortable and super fluffy and soft. I'd highly recommend them!

everygalaxy · 18/09/2014 14:57

Great news Smile your DD has a lovely Mom to help replace her favorite dress - reminds me of something my Mom would do!
I'm really pleased with my Lindybop dresses (bit gutted I'm the bride and have to wear a boring wedding dress). They are a nice stretch fabric and look very classy - fairly generous on the bust though (had to buy one bridesmaid chicken fillets Blush)

everygalaxy · 18/09/2014 15:17

Lindy Bop
Look they have just stocked these in blue - lovely!

NorksAreMesssy · 18/09/2014 17:02

JUST BOUGHT ONE!
Isn't that the most adorable dress? It popped into my inbox 30 minutes ago and I bought it 28 minutes ago :)

I am not so much a lovely Mum as a half guilty-because-the-washing-machine-killed-it and half I-want-to-borrow-this-to-wear-to-a-wedding :)
