....on first using them I was not impressed.

Now I've got the hang of them I can confirm they are truly miraculous and wonderful !!!

Have given my other straighteners away now.

I want some GHDs

Were they expensive?

JollyRogerMamaG · 22/09/2006 10:30

They are on my Christmas list think they're about £100 a pop.

I've got Saks ones which I thought were great until I tried my friend's GHDs...

ginmummy · 22/09/2006 10:31

My sister is a hairdresser and she's got some Babyliss ones at home (£25) and GHD ones at work (£125) and she says she prefers the Babyliss ones, although the GHD ones are hotter and that's the thing that matters.

2Happy · 22/09/2006 10:34

Ooh, I got some of these for my bday. I've been through 2 other makes, and decided that if these didn't work I'd just give up on straighteners.
OMG they are just fantastic!!!!! Would recommend them to anyone. They're definitely pricey, but damn they're good! (Reminds me, must get my hair cut so it's fit to be seen out of its scraggy ponytail! )

puff · 22/09/2006 10:37

Honestly, they are marvellous. My previous straighteners weren't ultra cheap (about £45) and were ceramic, but they dried my hair out terribly and although my hair would be straightish, it wouldn't be smooth - this seems to be the difference with GHD's, and they do just glide through the hair v quickly.

I use a small round brush to get sections of hair and then run the ghd's through it.

Now I'm commuting every week instead of doing the school run, I realised I couldn't just shove a hat on if my hair was a wreck, so they will be a godsend!

The downside is they become incredibly addictive. Your hair just doesn't feel or look right if you haven't used them (if you are used to them obv).

You have been warned!

Stiglet · 22/09/2006 12:46

omg I couldn't live without mine now

tamum · 22/09/2006 13:08

Me too- I had the Hairtools ones and was quite happy with them but GHD are in a different league.

wendy33 · 22/09/2006 14:27

I want a pair too!!!

binker · 22/09/2006 16:36

do you use them every day puff ? do you have to dry your hair first ?

mosschops30 · 22/09/2006 16:37

i use mine every day without fail and they are the sole reason I wont go camping because as others have said once you have them you cant live without them
worth every penny

Where's the best place to buy them then ??
Any online bargains ??

tamum · 22/09/2006 18:34

I got mine from HQHair- seemed reasonable but maybe not as cheap as eBay. I was wary of getting imitations though.

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 22/09/2006 18:37

Try www.lookfantastic.com, thats where i got my ghd lifesavers from Depends on which pair you have, i've got the wide ones and think they were about £100.

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:39

My DDs got theirs from lookfantastic, I think they were c £80 for the standard width ones and they threw in some clips and a bottle of gunk.

However DD2 has recently started letting hers wiggle again which looks rather nice.

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:41

Here you go, "only" £78.95

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 22/09/2006 18:43

I'm a lookfantastic addict, dh goes weak everytime i get a package!!

tamum · 22/09/2006 18:46

I'll see your £78.95 and raise you £75.50 (only without any gunk, admittedly)

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:46

Blimey, tamum's HQHair is even cheaper - £75.50!

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 22/09/2006 18:47

tamum · 22/09/2006 18:47

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:47

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:48
