....on first using them I was not impressed.

Now I've got the hang of them I can confirm they are truly miraculous and wonderful !!!

Have given my other straighteners away now.

so....
all you GHD converts...
do you have curly hair, wavy hair, or straight hair, thick or thin?
(I am wondering if GHD is necessary for finishing touch on straight hair)

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 22/09/2006 18:55

feckit, DD1 has dead straight hair and still straightens it. It's a bit like ironing a non-iron shirt straight after it comes out of the dryer!

tamum · 22/09/2006 18:55

My hair is thick and wavy left to itself, feckit (nice name, by the way!)

Stiglet · 22/09/2006 19:01

I have dead straight hair, but alot of it, using straighters makes it much sleeker.

BrummieMomInMerthyr · 22/09/2006 19:04

Mine is thick, frizzy and wavy if left to it's own devices, looks like i've been in a tumble dryer if i don't use my ghd's!

Stiglet · 22/09/2006 19:51

excuse my spelling

puff · 22/09/2006 20:05

feckit, mine used to be a poker straight, glossy mane (usually cut in a bob). Since having kids it turned into a hedge - ghd's are finally taming it!

Why thank you Tamum!

Hmmm... no definitive on the fine but loads of the straight stuff GHD is a godsend then. Although my hair changed after childbirth like you Puff, I could not claim hedge status... more pancake with a kink in all honesty....

puff · 22/09/2006 22:18

lol fekit

how are they different to other straighteners?
i would like some but don't they wreck your hair if you use them each day???

cheeryface · 23/09/2006 20:54

.

dinny · 23/09/2006 20:58

I got these GHDs for unruly hair lookhere and they are utterly fantastic, have changed my hair soooo much. just wish I had bought them years ago! I ordered them from this site and they arrived v promptly and are good value, imo!

Thomcat · 23/09/2006 21:00

No other hairstraighteners will do.

I only use them when I'm going out out and they make such a difference.

dinny · 23/09/2006 21:00

cheeryface, I only use them 1-2 a week (when I wash my hair) as it gets it sooo straight and sleek all I need to do in the morning is brush my hair! still can't believe how good they are! it's like being one of those naturally straighthaired people I always used to envy! I use that L'Oreal protective cream when I straighten my hair and it is really good.

dinny · 23/09/2006 21:03

they make your hair sooooo silky - like it was when you were about eight years old! without it mine is a thick unruly tangle mess that is impossible to brush without becoming an even more hideous frizz.

even most blokish bloke at work last week kept asking me what I'd done to my hair, lol.

littlerach · 23/09/2006 21:03

They get much hotter than other kinds and just seem to perform magic on your hair.

I ahve some other make which do a good job on my hair (normally wavy, quite long), but GHDs make it perfect.

I guess they're not good for your hair, but if you use a protectuive spray thing then that helps.

dinny · 23/09/2006 21:04

God, sorry to sound so ridiculously enthusiastic...

gravity · 24/09/2006 04:59

they are magical! agree - use the spray that you can get by ghd..... did you know not only do they straighten but you can curl with them too? and they make GREAT sexy ringlet curls!

ghosty · 24/09/2006 06:23

OMG I am soooooo excited! I am getting a pair ... They cost $300 here which is around 100 pounds BUT $300 is a HELL of a lot of money when you earn the kiwi $ ....
But I know someone who knows someone who is sending me some from Ireland and I will get them for $220 ....
I can't wait! My hair seriously needs them ... I always have a nice cut but my current straighteners are crap ....

dinny · 24/09/2006 07:49
