Where oh where can I find a tshirt bra without horrid thick padded material??

Seems like I'm spending hours and hours looking for this. I want a nude tshirt bra, therefore smooth with no seems or lace. It's to wear under silky white tops which any pattern will sho? through. All I can find are very moulded bras which are very thick, and the material at the top of the breast causes a ridge which shows under clothes. I don't understand why I can have loads of coloured bras that don't have this thickness of material, but no one seems to make one in nude and plain. I've tried marks and spencer (shudder) and John Lewis, but to no avail. Ideally a balconette is my best shape. I have one from john Lewis which is a bit thick but better than most, but it's a full cup and completely squashes my breasts to my body. Please help!

I've just bought a couple of these. Cheap and cheerful and seem ok so far.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 14/08/2014 13:07

Oh, they're not balconette though.

Littlemoocow · 14/08/2014 13:09

Thanks for the reply. I tried that one on this morning actually! Can't remember now what was wrong with it as I tried so many, I think it squashed everything down.

It's like the bloody Holy Grail of bra buying! I'm looking for exactly the same, but no luck. I bought one of the M&S t-shirt bras in desperation, but I hate hate HATE moulded cups so rarely wear it. Complete waste of money!

I will watch with interest and pray someone comes up trumps!

mistlethrush · 14/08/2014 13:17

I find these very good for being inconspicuous - not balconnette though.

ohmymimi · 14/08/2014 13:19

Take a look at the La Redoute site, they stock a myriad of bras.

Missunreasonable · 14/08/2014 13:20

Calvin Klein do some t shirt bras which are not padded and have no seams. The problem I find with bras with no padding is that nipples tend to stand up through the bras fabric which isn't ideal for tshirt wearing.

I got mine in debenhams (ugh, debenhams), it's black but I think they make white too. I have six the same in case they run out.

This is good under stuff www.figleaves.com/uk/product/go-6461/cleo-by-panache-juna-balconette-bra/?show=1&noc=1

I feel a trip to BHS coming on.

I have old M&S bras like that, which are really comfy. Their more recent designs don't fit.

WhizzPopBang · 14/08/2014 13:40

Weirdly - GAP! Never buy from anywhere else now, they're plain, fit beautifully, wash well etc.

There's various ones to choose from, but see site here: www.gap.co.uk/products/womens-bras.jsp

Littlemoocow · 14/08/2014 13:40

Thanks everyone. The cleo juna one looks promising. I have ordered and will report back.

The fantasie one miss unreasonable posted is the one I have. It's excellent.

Littlemoocow · 14/08/2014 13:40

Ooh, bhs and gap I would never think of. I'll look next time I'm near one

I always get the Panache Porcelain (well, not at the moment as I have massive pregnancy norks so in non wired) - it's moulded but not too thick. I prefer a bit of moulding to avoid the smuggling peanuts look.

tethersend · 14/08/2014 15:06

Gossard

bonkersLFDT20 · 14/08/2014 15:19

A t.shirt bra by definition will have the padding because as unreasonable says they are meant to stop perky nipples under tight fitting t.shirts.

I can't help you though as my shape is perfect for t.shirt bras with full moulded cups!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 14/08/2014 15:25

I'd never thought of BHS either but it came up in my search engine and I thought I'd give them a try. Very comfy. Grin

SorrelForbes · 14/08/2014 15:43

What size are you looking for?

The Juna is very good but had lace at the top (which you could cut off!). The Panache Idina balconette in nude is good under thin tops. The fabric looks lacy but is quite smooth.

Cleo are bringing out a nude version of their Marcie bra in the spring.

cardigal · 14/08/2014 15:53

I bought a moulded one from Bravissimo - fitted perfectly but I was too embarrassed to hang it on the line after washing it or have DH see it so I threw it out.

Goddamn ugly things - they look hideous even in a drawer Shock

Littlemoocow · 14/08/2014 16:43

I'm a 30e roughly. I don't mind a bit of padding, it's just the fact that they all have really thick padding which leaves a ridge at the top which shows under a thin fitted top. Ideally the padding would get thinner and thinner towards the top. Thanks, I'll have a look at those other recommendations
