Well at the weekend I saw a whole croc wearing family, mum, dad and 3 boys and they looked......

......HIDEOUS!!!!! RIDICULOUS!!! All different colours too, and how proud they looked striding along.

Sorry but there is just no need for this siliness. They were shopping in them to, I could have ignored this fact if they were wading in a local stream or something.

Also, saw a mum at the school gate this morning with the biggest feet I have ever seen on a woman, couldn't help but stare. She had flip flops on and lots of hard skin. Yuk.

Think I have a foot fetish?

Oh, I see - we have those in NZ but we wouldn't know the name of them. They sell fake ones in the warehouse for about 4 quid and I know they will be reducing the whole wall soon as none have sold.

tigermoth · 18/09/2006 20:22

ebay beckons, threebob...

spook · 18/09/2006 20:22

Tigermoth-pink crocs haven't yet infiltrated this area of northern Newcastle but I have no doubt they will when they see how stylish I look in mine

Blondilocks · 18/09/2006 20:23

OH & I saw them in a shop in our local town today. I'd told them about him but he hadn't actually seen any before.

I really don't like them. Don't see how they can be comfortable ... they remind me of cut off wellies!

CapedCrusader · 18/09/2006 20:23

So do you wear them over your normal shoes?

spook · 18/09/2006 20:24

PMSL Caped Crusader! NO! You wear them with bare feet!

tigermoth · 18/09/2006 20:24

I think they are going to be big next summer. I didn't buy them this year as I bought two (yes two, count them) pairs of birkenstocks this spring and they are still going strong.

CapedCrusader · 18/09/2006 20:24

urgh

Thomcat · 18/09/2006 20:26

I've been to the Conker shoe shop in Totnes!
EVERYONE in Totnes wears them don't they.

spook · 18/09/2006 20:28

Why urrgghh CC?? They are full of holes so stay cool-and you can paddle in them

Jimjams2 · 18/09/2006 20:28

Oh yes TC- and this time next year tigermoth will be wearing them as well My kids have had several pairs.......

CapedCrusader · 18/09/2006 20:30

So go paddling then, but for everyday use? Sorry I think they are hideous, mind I'm a birkenstock lover so I'm probably not qualified to comment

BettySpaghetti · 18/09/2006 20:43

I just had a quick look on ebay to see how much crocs are going for and found these for customising your crocs

There are loads of similar ones on there

peegeeweegeewoo · 19/09/2006 10:44

pmsl at the customized crocs!!

have to say, I love crocs but don't have any yet... (no money at mo...)

am a huge fan of birkenstocks, i also own 5 pairs of dm's (purple zipped calf boots, brown flip flops, pink mary janes, red sandals, black sandals) and definately have crocs on my wishlist for next summer...

cannot wear those ballet pumps tho, at 6ft1 and 20st I would look faintly ridiculous in a pair of dainty pumps...

jimjams - love the look of the conker shoes, have added website to fave's and feel an order coming on.....

just rolling around the floor hyperventilating at the cost of conkers....

o well, never mind..... would have loved some for dd in black for school...., will hunt out some black dm mary janes instead

or... do you think they would let her go in black crocs???

misdee · 19/09/2006 10:58

so i am a size 6.5 do i buy a 6 or 7?

best palce to get them?

no-one wears them round here. but feet are hating trainers right now.

i dont like packing my birkies away, and its still too warm for my boots.

Jimjams2 · 19/09/2006 11:07

oh god yes conkers are hugely expensive. Fine for adults as they do last for years, but for children definitely a very special treat (for me ). I am going to force ds3 to wear an old pair of ds2's soon

TinyGang · 19/09/2006 11:11

'Also, saw a mum at the school gate this morning with the biggest feet I have ever seen on a woman' my imagination is going crazy

alex8 · 19/09/2006 11:14

I saw not 1 but 2 families of children (they were all together) wearing those mini boden hoop striped short trousers things in the summer. Scary. I have very large feet so I may have been the mother at the school gates. I was wearing ancient converse all stars.

peegeeweegeewoo · 19/09/2006 12:14

oooh, am intrigued now, which mini boden shorts do you mean???

re the woman at school with big feet - i will be checking out all the feet at the school gate and search for the biggest ones....
mind you, I am a size 7, not sure there is much bigger out there...
a friend of mine was size 8, but slender... (gosh, that makes me sound like I check out and evaluate all my friend's feet....)

alex8 · 19/09/2006 14:13

I have very wide 8s. But sometimes have to take a 9 but I don't think they look too clown like!

I couldn't find a pic of the shorts as its all the autumn stuff in there.

SpanielEars · 19/09/2006 16:43

i love mine and they go with anything....well nearly. I love the kids wellies made by crocs!
