It looks much nicer in real life (I actually think the model in the picture appears to be wearing a size too large for her)

I am in my 30s, size 8, tall, dark hair.

My only concerns are:

Is it too old for someone in their 30s?
Would the colour look odd on someone with pale skin?

Thanks Thanks

If you feel good in it that's all that counts. It's a lovely dress, if you feel a million dollars in it then it's "the one" Grin

isitsnowingyet · 06/08/2014 19:05

Sorry - don't like the colour, and it does look a bit baggy on the model. But saying that, it might look fabulous on someone else with the right make-up/flowers and hairstyle!

MagnificentMaleficent · 06/08/2014 19:07

Beautiful! Provided it isn't quite as big on you a the model.

EmyK35 · 06/08/2014 19:11

It gives the models stats and says she is wearing a size 10. I am bigger than the model and the size 8 fits me like a glove.

I definitely don't think the pictures on the Debenhams website do it justice, but just wanted an idea of opinions.
Thanks

I agree with magnificent. Its absolutely beautiful if its a little neater on you. I think you will look stunning and suit your colouring. It has a vintage feel.

BunnyLebowski · 06/08/2014 19:24

I like the idea of it but I find the execution lacking.

It looks more pensioner on a cruise ship than ethereal bride.

With your figure and height you can do better.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/08/2014 19:40

Mmmm, not sure. I share Bunny's concerns. Then again, you are very slim and tall and quite young, so it could well look lovely. Must admit though, that I am pale and that colour would make me look as if I'd been dug up after several years.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 06/08/2014 19:45

I like it, but worried it might drown you as you are so tiny.

Have you had a look at Phase 8? I know, I KNOW! but another poster found a dress from there that was a similar price point and v. Jenny Packamesque. Was gorgeous. I was surprised. Smile

beachywaves · 06/08/2014 19:50

Lovely dress, very elegant. Like Remus, the colour would make me look ill, but if it suits your colouring, then absolutely go for it.

AndIFeedEmGunpowder · 06/08/2014 19:51

Just seen you are tall. Ignore me. Smile Reckon you can pull it off!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/08/2014 19:52

Ooh was it me who found the Phase 8 one? I can't remember. Was it this one?

tethersend · 06/08/2014 19:52

I think it's lovely.

I love gold.

EmyK35 · 06/08/2014 19:58

Oh dear. Pensioner on a cruise ship. Now that is not what I am aiming for Sad

tethersend · 06/08/2014 20:01

I don't think it's pensioner on a cruise ship at all!

I like it as it has sleeves- I'm not usually keen on embellished dresses, but that one I like.

tethersend · 06/08/2014 20:01

I'm thinking medieval princess Grin

MrsLettuce · 06/08/2014 20:05

Might it have been this phase8 one?

I do believe the OPs dress could look stunning on the right person, apart from the fit on the model the crop of the photo is very, very odd.

MrsLettuce · 06/08/2014 20:11

the dress on the right is the OPs dress. I can't find any other photos of it.

specialsubject · 06/08/2014 20:19

looks awful on the model - what is wrong with these companies?

if it fits rather than swamping, then maybe.

Bettycakes80 · 06/08/2014 20:22

I think it looks quite Downton Abby so I love it. But the important thing is you feel amazing when you put it on.

tethersend · 06/08/2014 20:31

Debenhams are outdone only by M&S in the shit-styling-of-nice-stuff stakes.

EmyK35 · 06/08/2014 20:47

I really wish there was a nicer picture of it online to show you all

MrsLettuce · 06/08/2014 20:53

You know what suits and flatters you much better than a bunch of strangers who have seen neither you nor the dress! How did you feel in it?

EmyK35 · 06/08/2014 20:59

I feel great in it - fits like a glove and feel that it shows off my good points (flat stomach and nice bum!) but hides my bad points (blotchy skin on upper arms and chest)

It's hard to find dresses with sleeves that are not low cut either

OP posts:
Thegreatunslept · 06/08/2014 21:08

I think it's gorgeous! Wear your hair up so the back of the dress can be seen!

BunnyLebowski · 06/08/2014 21:16

Sounds like it's much better in real life OP and, more importantly, you clearly love it!

You could post a headless selfie for us?!
