Benefit products - do you use any and which, if any, would you recommend?

I had a good mooch around their stuff in Debenhams today and was wondering if they're any good really.

I'm 40, have a few fine lines, no real wrinkles, very oily t-zone, and get red cheeks.

I really liked the look of the Porefessional products, especially the new one (can't remember the name - it's an anti-shine powder that has the brush in the lid).

Do people rate Benefit skin care and make up or is it not worth paying out for?

There was no one working the counter at the time so I couldn't ask any questions but I was thinking of going back and getting one of their make up lessons.

Any advice and experience would be most welcome!

Have just bought Dandelion to use as blusher and not impressed. It's okay but grossly overpriced- not much better than cheapo Rimmel. I only chose it as I need a very pale blusher but in fact it's too pink for me- prefer a more peachy shade.
Generally, I don't rate benefit- think it's poor cheap packaging and products are not especially good quality.

PastaandCheese · 11/06/2014 19:00

I like the brow kit and the mascara.

VeraClaythorne · 11/06/2014 19:04

The they're real mascara is rubbish. But the hello flawless oxygen wow stuff is brilliant (if you don't need heavy coverage). Looks very natural.

MyrtleDove · 11/06/2014 19:05

The new sunscreen (part of the skincare range in the green glass packaging) is supposed to be very good. The only thing I really rate is Dallas - by far the best bronzer for pale people, it's actually a smoked plum shade so doesn't ever go orangey.

Lazy Boots Natural Collection blusher is very good. Also you can use a more pigmented blusher if you're pale - just use less of it. IMO using less of a more pigmented blusher is better than using a normal amount of a less pigmented one.

UncrushedParsley · 11/06/2014 19:09

Porefessional balm. Brilliant stuff.

Lazysummerdays · 11/06/2014 20:47

Thanks Myrtle- I have the Boots blusher in peach and I find it too bright :(

libertytrainers · 11/06/2014 20:50

am just trying out the potent eye cream and so far it's working

rockybalboa · 11/06/2014 20:51

See Vera I think They're Real mascara is incredible. I have also been using High Beam for about a decade and it's one of my essentials. I use Poreprofessional but am thinking of trying the Lanacane stuff when I can work out whereabouts in Boots to find it when it runs out.

eurochick · 11/06/2014 20:52

The porefessional stuff in the turquoise tube is brilliant. It keeps my t zone completely shine free all day on all but the most hot and sweaty days. I use it every day without fail. I can't stand the feeling of foundation on my skin but don't feel this at all.

Livingwithminecraftaddicts · 11/06/2014 21:00

I love the Holywood Glow and High Beam for a subtle shine along cheek bones and the top of the nose.

ThisBitchIsResting · 11/06/2014 21:15

I like

Feelin Dandy face kit - includes High Beam highlighter, Dandelion blusher, Dandelion lipgloss and Posietint stain for lips and cheeks. Used all together it's a lovely kit for pale of face types, foolproof IMO and comes with instructions and diagrams which I know is cheesy but I like it.

Gimme Brow mascara wand for filling in brows - the lighter shade is perfect for foolproof thickening of my sparse blondey brown brows.

I don't like the new BB cream, it is simultaneously greasy and powdery on me and so thick it needs a palette knife to spread it on. And the colour they sold me leaves me orange.

ThankYouDebbie · 11/06/2014 21:18

Yy to the Pore Professional, love it.

I would buy all Benefit if I could afford it.

My brow zings (sp?) kit lasted for years so I am happy to justify that one :-D

MrsEdinburgh · 11/06/2014 21:28

Every time I have bought a magazine with a mini Benefit freebie in it, I have ended up buying the full size product.
I love The Porefessional, Posietint & They're Real Mascara.

Boots currently have a Benefit mini set for £9.99 containing a mini The Porefessional, mini Posietint & a mini Bad Gal Lash.
Obviously I had to have it Grin

UncrushedParsley · 11/06/2014 21:29

Pore fessional lasts for ages, you only need a tiny bit. Tis the world's best selling primer I read somewhere, and you can wear it under or over make-up. I often wear it on its own.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/06/2014 21:48

Love:

Benetint
Posietint

Like:
Dandelion
Cha Cha tint
Highbeam

Like a lot but don't think I'll buy again - Porefessional (tiny pot for a lot of money)

Elledouble · 11/06/2014 22:19

Is Benetint the cheek/lip stain? I love that, I'd never go back to normal blusher after trying that.

TuttiFrutti · 11/06/2014 22:31

High beam is brilliant, I would never be without it. I also like Brow Zings. A lot of the rest is overpriced.

NormHonal · 11/06/2014 22:34

I love Stay Don't Stray for keeping eye make-up where it should be. I have now ventured back into wearing eyeshadow after years without it.

Whiskwarrior · 11/06/2014 22:37

Ooooh, some good feedback here - thanks everyone!

Might check out the set in Boots.

I love Dandelion powder, but it has been discontinued , I believe. Fab stuff that made an icey blonde look tickled pink.

I now use Posietint which is nice.
Dandelion blush - lovely.
High beam - great on brow bones.
Lemonade on under eyes.

I now have a tan, so am going to invest in bronzer. Is the Benefit stuff nice?

bouquetofpencils · 11/06/2014 22:45

Porefessional is good and does last forever however Lanacane is just the same and the loreal nude blur thing feels the same too.
I have just got Lollietint cheek stain and Dandelion and I use them together. Looks great on me, I am pale and fair skinned.
I love all their cheek products and all their concealers. Currently using up a small pot of erase paste as an eye primer and under eye coverage. Covers everything. I have also had Boi-ing which is lighter in texture but still covers great.
I find all benefit products last forever and I always use every last drop of them. Other cheaper products fade and end up in the bin. So cost per wear is really good.
High beam is good, but I actually prefer Girl with Pearl, which is pinker.

ThisBitchIsResting · 11/06/2014 22:58

Dandelion discontinued?! Surely not. It's in their latest brochure thingy the orange lady gave me.

GherkinTheMerkin · 12/06/2014 00:30

I really love the they're real mascara. I would advise buying benefit products from QVC because they offer a 30 day money back guarantee. You have to pay the postage but you can use the products and return them if they don't suit you, no questions asked.

butterfliesinmytummy · 12/06/2014 00:43

I have just bought hoola bronzed after searching for one with no shimmer or glitter, love it! Also use their it's real mascara. Have used benetint but not keen as it lasts about a minute as lip stain. I like boing too but am trying an awesome bob concealer by Dior atm.

butterfliesinmytummy · 12/06/2014 01:07

Oops, bronzed not bronzed
