Oh yes I am! I want to wear dresses/longish tunics (I know - I am the antithesis of style) but don't want to reveal my milk bottle legs. Please could you advise me:

where to buy them
how do I make sure I don't get leggings that will go baggy at the knee
are they cooler (as in not as warm) as tights?

TIA

Anyone seen any nice navy ones, long or longish cropped to suit wedge sandals please.

goodasitgets · 08/06/2014 23:26

I live in maidenform flexees, v light control tummy panel and mega stretchy. Also don't fall down

CateBlanket · 09/06/2014 07:16

Thanks goodsitgets! Bumping for Nocomet and me!

Sainsburys luxury leggings. Not the two-pack.

Nocomet · 09/06/2014 16:02

I'll try and remember to look in Sainsbury's. I wish they did clothes on the web.

Both me and the DDs have really go stuff from there, but our stores don't have a lot of clothes.

Nocomet · 09/06/2014 16:02

Good

TroyMcClure · 09/06/2014 16:02

Please dont

Germgirl · 09/06/2014 16:03

Definitely Sainsburys. The single pack ones. They're brilliant. They're sized quite large though, so go down a size.

Nocomet · 09/06/2014 16:20

Sadly my bum is large, that's why my current ones fall down.

Germgirl · 09/06/2014 16:21

My gut is HUGE & Sainos leggings cope very well with it. I have some on now & there's no knicker-showage.

CateBlanket · 09/06/2014 16:28

I went to Sainsbury's today and tried their luxury leggings on (£10). They were very wrinkly - does that mean too big/long/whatever?

Agree with goodasitgets. Flexees leggings are seriously the holy grail of leggings. Suck in my awful stomach to look nice and smooth. Thick and will never be see through, and never fall down. £10 in Costco! I have worn mine to death.

capet · 09/06/2014 16:39

Agree with troy, don't do it

CateBlanket · 09/06/2014 17:22

Troy and capet - look on the bright side; as soon as I start wearing them every bugger else will stop!

What do you suggest if I want to wear a nice summer frock from White Stuff but legs too white and I'm too cackhanded for fake tan?

storynanny2 · 09/06/2014 17:41

Won't you be too hot in leggings? I also have white legs, but I take the edge off the whiteness by rubbing a tiny bit of Rimmel sun shimmer on. It washes off so you can't go wrong. I usually put a pea sized blob on the front of my legs and rub it in well right down to the feet. It doesn't seem to come off on clothes either. There are several shades, I just went for the lightest in matte finish.
Don't worry what other people think about your legs, I wish I hadn't when I was younger back in the day

OorWullie · 09/06/2014 17:47

Up until last week, I had only ever worn leggings for around the past 3 years. Literally no jeans, trousers etc. Leggings only, the best pair i have had came from River Island, cheap at a tenner a pair, thick enough not to have that horrid see-through look you get with some, but not so thick that they went all wrinkled and granny like.

i'll never buy them from anywhere else now.

TessTackle · 09/06/2014 17:52

Just get your legs out!
I saw a v.pale woman earlier in a beautiful summer dress and i was quite jealous of her skin tone! Everyone is different and no one will notice your pale legs.
Bet they're not as pale as you think either!

TessTackle · 09/06/2014 17:53

But if you're determined to wear leggings, h&m £7.99 not the 5.99 ones
Holy grail of leggings.

hollycomputer · 09/06/2014 17:57

Mint Velvet's leggings are very good. I have about five pairs! Plus they're only £15.

www.mintvelvet.co.uk/leggings/dept/fcp-category/list?resetFilters=true

Might be a bit hot in summer though. I wouldn't worry about pale legs, just do a good exfoliate one a week and moisturise EVERY shower. If your skin looks nice, it doesn't matter if you're pale.

CateBlanket · 09/06/2014 18:42

You're all very kind Flowers Will try the various leggings recommendations and the Rimmell shimmer. I went out in dress earlier revealing my white legs and they were blinding in the sunlight!

Ohh tell me more about the Flexees leggings in Costco?
Are they a permenant stock item?

FelixFelix · 09/06/2014 19:25

They are always there every time I go! I bought mine a couple of years ago and always check they still sell them Grin you have to have a proper good rummage through the box to find a black pair in your size but they usually have them. They do navy blue, red, grey etc too.

capet · 09/06/2014 20:12

Trust me your pale legs will look much better than your legs enclosed in leggings.
In fact I would notice your legs more if they indeed were enshrined in leggings rather than out and proud and pale.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/06/2014 20:22

Next, m&s, Boden all sell good leggings. Nice thick and non see through. Next & m&s are about £10.

The sainsburys ones size down at least twice. You get a really good fit then.

goodasitgets · 09/06/2014 21:19

Costco you say? Hmmmm!!
I bought my last pair with Tesco clubcard points off their website
