Find me a Wedding dress for small registry office wedding.

DHTB and myself are planning a very small registry office wedding. Been together a long time and money is tight.

My dress budget is around £200. I don't really want a traditional wedding dress. I keep, looking at things thinking they are nice but then visualising someone older getting married I it (I'm 32).

I'm 5'2" currently a size 16 top/14 bottom. I'd like to drop a dress size before hand. I have very broad shoulders, broad back and big boobs so dresses aren't always easy. I have good legs and wouldn't mind shortish. I would like something that flatters my mummy tummy. Not much to ask hey! Don't mind colours or if something is plain customising to make it more dressy

Oh and I don't look great in strapless, all shoulders.

There was someone on here a couple of months ago who posted a photo of herself in her wedding dress and I think it was from La Redoute of all places. It was knee length, plain ,wider skirt and fitted bodice if I remember correctly and she was curvy (not fat, in case she is reading and thinks I am making a sly dig!) and it was beautiful, much nicer than it looked on the model on the website.

Would you go with one of those 50's (?) style dresses with a petticoat underneath? I will try to find an example now.

ineedsomeinspiration · 28/05/2014 22:46

MrsDiesil I do really like them but because of my boobs the waist often ends up I. The wrong place.

It might have been this although I might be totally wrong. I remember at the time thinking it looked really shapeless on the model but much much nicer on the mumsnetter...

ineedsomeinspiration · 28/05/2014 22:47

treaclesoda I've had a look on their website and the one I think it is is strapless which can look a bit rubbish on me.

That's quite pretty but do you think it's enough for a wedding. I still want to look amazing (or as wow as possible).

MrsDiesel · 28/05/2014 22:53

Sorry crossed posts, with the right scaffold underwear could you get away with one or are they just not right for you?

Will go back to the drawing board.

a wee bit of sleeve

treaclesoda · 28/05/2014 22:58

How long have you got? If you've got a few months, what about getting one made? It can work out at quite a reasonable price.

MrsLettuce · 28/05/2014 22:59

Oooooh!! Those two are lovely!
