I need a navy handbag to wear with an outfit for DD1's graduation. I was looking for patent leather but they are thin on the ground. I am wearing this this dress with shoes.

The two i have found i like are this one and this one

The first is ££ whereas the second is £££. My DH likes the second one and i think he would buy it for mesa he has recently got a very good bonus a work. But i don't want to be swayed by price or label.

Tell me honestly which one you like. If you like neither and can find better then i am open to suggestion.

Shock really?! For one day??? Isn't there anything in debenhams you could use? Its dd's day after all??

Milmingebag · 28/05/2014 20:52

Too matchy-matchy. How about a tan one?

ThePerfectNegroni · 28/05/2014 20:53

Its up to OP to decide what she wants to spend on a bag!

As for the bags you have chosen, they are a bit big and work like, for wearing with such a summery elegant dress. Is there anything a bit smaller you can use? Or would you use it as an everyday bag after?

littlewhitebag · 28/05/2014 20:54

There is nothing in Debenhams or any other high street shop that i have seen.

I know it's about DD - she already has her outfit/bag/shoes etc. I need a navy bag anyway so i won't just be using it for one day.

DH would like to buy me a nice bag and he can afford it. He buys himself nice things a lot and i am very much a high street girl. I am just trying to decide if the Mulberry one is much much nicer than the Michael Kors one.

But surely it's not going to be used just once Confused.

I prefer the look of the first one but I'm not too keen on MK bags.

littlewhitebag · 28/05/2014 20:55

I am not sure about the size thing. I will need to have a big enough bag to carry all my bits and pieces for graduation day. I like a roomy bag!

To be honest,I wouldn't buy a bayswater for that price,
And the MK one is just no!
Why don't you try anya hinmarch or smythson,

dwinnol · 28/05/2014 21:00

Mulberry. No contest.

littlewhitebag · 28/05/2014 21:06

I did see one in Debenahams which was less matchy match. It was this one But not really sure.

The Aspinal hobo is lovely too but i would wear that with jeans and trainers.

Why if someone posts about designer bags do people try to talk them out of it with links to cheap shit ones? This only seems to happen on handbag threads. If someone was posting about getting a new Ferrari you wouldn't get a load of posters going 'have you thought of a Suziki Alto?'

MrsLettuce · 28/05/2014 21:19

See if you play your cards right you could get this and a lovely day bag for the price of the stripey bag.

scottishmummy · 28/05/2014 21:21

I think mulberry is a carthorse of a bag, bulky and ungainly
Have you tried smythson,tod,hindmarch
