WildBill I was thinking about this two days ago for some reason! Oh I know why, the cheapo 'everythng shop' in our village had some roll on lip glossers.
Cannot remember exactly what I first bought but MAx Factor mint roll on gloss featured as did Rimmel mascara - a roll on applicator. It cost 5p then went up to 25p (expensive! That was my pocket money!!!). I got it in grey or grape.
"Borrowed" mum's 'Angel Face by Pears' blue cake mascara. I borrowed her Evette (Woolworths) mascara too. I mainly used MIners or Outdoor Girl as they had interesting colours. I got an eyeshadow range from Miners in the 'posh' range' bright pink, blue, acid yellow and green. I wore the yellow and green. I was hoping to offend my mum with the strong colours, but the heartless woman told me I had put the two colours together really well. I loved Miners Purple haze lippie and an Outdoor girl one called Ripe Ackee which was actually in their short lived black make up range although I am fair skinned.
Outdoor Gilr brought out a tinted gel - I had it in honey. It was the absolute best thing. It did not look dirty or orange. It gave a suggestion of colour and looked really good.Oh and their Blusher in rambling rose.
I only bought roll on lip gloss and occasional mascara from Max Factor (pricey!) and bought mascara only from Revlon, although later on went mad on the nail varnish.
I saved up for yonks for Mary Quant make up as I loved the deep pinks, mauves and reds but my favouite was Choosey Cherry lippie and chic cherry nails, a sort of brown/black/purple colour. I then got obsessed with a totally other colour called satin slicker which was goldie with a bit of pink. I liked MQ foundation and loved loved loved her blushers too. I got a mascara in green too.
I loved Max Factor Satin Cleanser and Anne Franch cleasing milk or Lemon Delph.
I used to get Miners all weather mascara too and Boots 17 eye make up remover. I remember Miners brought out a honey flavoured range of lippies. I had one and a lip gloss.
I got a Rimmel eye pencil is Azure - which went under the eye only (for some reason).
I also saved up for an eye pencil fro a company called Princess Galitzine (A Russian living in America, I seem to remember). The make up was along the lines of Charles of the Ritz (remember that??) and I guess YSL. They had the most amazing collection of eye pencils but I could only afford one. I got a green shot with gold. I got a Charles of the Ritz eye shadow duo too that I think was the first 'mozaic' looking one.
I also loved Helana Rubinstein fondation and mascara and a lovely cherry lipstick. Sad you can only buy it in Europe now (well, not in UK or USA anyway).
I used to save up for Dior lipstick too! Always a red.
Although I did not have major acne, I used to exterminate my few spots with Innoxa 41 Solution lotion and Anne French Glow 5 mask.
