If you were going to buy two Estee Lauder products tomorrow...

Which ones would you choose? I've heard good things about their current free gift offer at Boots, so was going to treat myself tomorrow.

I usually get the double wear light, but haven't tried any other products and they're blardy expensive

Any tips appreciated please.

Oooh the night oil I can't remember the name of.

plantsitter · 19/05/2014 21:19

The waterpro

thepurplepenguin · 19/05/2014 21:20

Lip gloss and the double wear mascara

plantsitter · 19/05/2014 21:20

Oops! The waterproof mascara is good but not the non waterproof. Day cream is underwhelming but I think I was expecting miracles.

ThisBitchIsResting · 19/05/2014 21:20

I'd probably try their new bb cream. In a bid to spend as much as possible in my quest to find the perfect one I'm buying them all.

emsyj · 19/05/2014 21:24

I really really love their Daywear cream - is that the one you were underwhelmed by plantsitter? I think it's great. I have very greasy skin, but am getting old and haggard and it's the only thing I've found that does the job of giving me a nice base for my makeup without making me break out in spots and blackheads (presumably because it's oil-free). So I guess it depends on your skin type.

I also like the 'Idealist' skin refinisher stuff, but it's not as good as the Clinique Total Turnaround so I don't think I would buy it...

You may need to buy one skincare product, I think it depends on the offer but when they did gift time in Debenhams in February you had to buy 2 items, one of which to be skincare...

EyelinerQueen · 19/05/2014 21:24

I'd go for the Advanced Night Repair and maybe the Double Wear mascara.

Onsera3 · 19/05/2014 21:27

Advanced Night Repair or pretty much any of their serums can actually deliver results.

Items from the Doublewear range.

gennibugs · 19/05/2014 21:31

I love the daywear cream and the advanced night repair. I always go back to them.

I got given a EL lipstick the other day and that's really nice too.

SlinkyB · 19/05/2014 21:32

Thanks so far. Yes one purchase has to be skincare (does the double wear light foundation count does anyone know?).

I have spot-prone skin and am a bit nervy of the Advanced Night Repair serum as read it can lead to break outs?

OP posts:
emsyj · 19/05/2014 21:41

Foundation doesn't count, I was buying foundation anyway when I bought last time and she said I had to get a skincare to go with it to get gift. If you're spot-prone like me, get the Daywear face cream!

I also really like their eyeshadows - tons of pigment and last ages.

plantsitter · 19/05/2014 21:58

It is the daywear stuff but perhaps I've got weird skin if everyone else likes it! I find it makes my skin quite slippery somehow.

SlinkyB · 19/05/2014 22:33

Thanks emsyj! I might be realllly brave and ask the lady on the counter for some make-up advice, I'm always too scared to try new things but fancy a change.
Hope I don't come out orange Grin

The eye pencils are lovely

IDugUpADiamond · 20/05/2014 05:58

What is the free gift? Grin
I don't need anything but I could be persuaded, depending on what the gift is...

Tirimisu lipstick, bronze eyeliner... Double wear powder... All utterly lovely!!!

SlinkyB · 20/05/2014 08:01

I panicked this morning when I posted a link to Estee Lauder's Facebook page, as thought it directed you to my logged in FB account! (In my defence I'm sleep deprived due to night feeds).

Dh checked and it was actually fine Blush

Facebook page

You might have to scroll down Idugupadiamond - says offer ends Sat 24th May.

Double wear eyeliners - they are amazing!

hedgehogy · 20/05/2014 08:49

Advanced night repair and the double wear powder (I use this as foundation). Daywear is also good.

HiawathaDidntBotherTooMuch · 20/05/2014 09:00

I am an Estee Lauder devotee.

The Advanced Night Repair serum is their best selling product. Its pricey though - around 40 I think for 30ml. A 30 ml bottle will last me for 3 months. You only apply it at night, underneath your moisturiser. There is a 7ml of this in the gift.

Daywear moisturiser is another best selling product of theirs. I have used it for 15+ years and I love it. Its a moisturiser. You can get it for combination sor dry skin. Its very light.

Idealist is a pore minimising refinishing cream. its very light. It leaves my skin velvety.

I like all of their mascaras except the waterproof one for some reason.

They have a new illuminating primer out, I understand. I think its about 22.

I like their eye creams, but I'm not a huge fan of them. I have a few in the bathroom cupboard that have been part of GWP, and I am using them up. I'm not sure I would buy them separately.

SlinkyB · 20/05/2014 09:30

Ooh, thanks for all that info Hiawatha. I don't currently use a day/night cream as never seem to remember (4mo and 3yo) and am always worried about it making my face more spotty.

I just use Elemis face wash in shower, then Simple moisturiser followed by primer and EL double wear light foundation most days.

Just called my local big Boots to check they had the make-up bag and free gift in stock, and they do. Lady also said that to qualify, one of the two purchases has to be skincare or foundation, so my doublewear light does count! Smile

Now, do I get the daywear cream or some make up?! The Bronze Goddess collection looks lovely and summery...

You're welcome! If you're after a lipstick, the pure color lasting creme lipsticks are really moisturising. I think they're about 19. The Envy lipsticks are really nice apparently, but they're 25 (eeek).

I have used their bronzer for years, and bought it time and time again. I have had a huge Estee bronzing brush for years too, which I would really recommend if they still make it. It never sheds and is still lovely and plump and it must be about 10 years old.

I also use the pink wash off foaming cleanser and I really rate that for dry skin. A little goes a long way, and a tube lasts me for nearly 3 months. It foams up loads so you only need a little bit.

The gentle eye make up remover in the blue plastic bottle is fab for me, but if your eyes are sensitive, you should try it in the shop.

I think that there is (I might be wrong, but there is definitely a moisturiser) a day wear moisturiser but for combination skin in the Boots gift.

My next purchase will be the illuminating primer.

Happy shopping and don't forget to use your Advantage card and any extra points vouchers.

IDugUpADiamond · 20/05/2014 12:22

Sorry if I'm being dim but I can't see where the offer is on the Boots website.

SlinkyB · 20/05/2014 13:20

Don't know if it's on the Boots website, but it's showing on the Facebook page I linked to above?
