What to wear on feet with skinny jeans when the weather is a bit warmer?

I always have this problem.

I wear boots and skinnies all the time, but don't want to wear them in Spring - my Converse look odd (feet look too big)

I do have ballet shoes which look okay but not casual enough ... Is there anything else that would look good?

When it's really warm, I wear flip flops, but want something for that time when it's a bit chilly?

I know this is a sin - but is there anything that I could wear socks with aswell. (Willing to accept that this may not be possible)

Thanks in advance!

Was going to say Converse or ballet shoes. Personally I wouldn't do jeans with flip flops - if it's warm enough for flip flops, I'd want shorts or a skirt on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/05/2014 13:56

Pale suede pixie boots maybe?

prettywhiteguitar · 03/05/2014 14:16

Brogues ? I have a blue pair that looks cool, once they are worn in you can usually get away with not wearing socks

Forlornhope · 03/05/2014 14:25

i have the gap gold loafers www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?vid=1&pid=000918457005

look ace with black skinnies

Forlornhope · 03/05/2014 14:26

you see Remoid, I love jeans with flip flops
Have some vintage (!) havaianas that s1 left me when he grew out of them

poppycarew · 03/05/2014 14:26

Suede penny loafer or similar type thing ?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/05/2014 14:36

LOL at vintage.

Don't mind rolled up jeans with sandals or flip flops, but not full length - unless snazzy night time sandals (which incidentally, I also need).

Both of my girls have had bigger feet than me since they were about ten! :)

RonaldMcDonald · 03/05/2014 14:39

forlorn

no

JodieGarberJacob · 03/05/2014 14:42

I'm wearing espadrilles at the moment but pumps generally. I'm thinking about getting some short boots if the weather doesn't improve.

JodieGarberJacob · 03/05/2014 14:44

Ah, not with socks though! Didn't see that bit.

storynanny2 · 03/05/2014 14:45

I am wearing some navy leather lightweight ankle boots which are quite flattish with my straight leg jeans until it is a bit warmer. But I am 57 so you might not want to take fashion advice from me!
My mother would never let us "go into our summer clothes and sandals" until the end of May whatever the weather as she believed in the saying " ne're cast a clout til May is out" Then, whatever the weather we had to stay in them as " you would catch a chill" if you kept changing from winter to summer clothing. One of my mothers many ridiculous ideas.

bishboschone · 03/05/2014 14:47

loafers.. mine are from fat face ..soo comfy.

MelonKim · 03/05/2014 14:52

Trainers?

coloured?

YouHaveBeenOutbid · 03/05/2014 15:56

Toms or slip on canvas shoes? You could do trainer socks underneath.

PeppermintInfusion · 03/05/2014 15:58

I've got some slip on converse, they don't seem to look as big as regular converse with skinny jeans, think it's because they show more of the top of the foot, if that makes sense.

Also slip on Vans are similar, if you're looking for something trainer-like.

PeppermintInfusion · 03/05/2014 16:00

Also TOMS type espadrilles.

Hopefully · 03/05/2014 16:00

I'm all about skate shoes ATM - you know, slip on trainers, like Vans (or like school daps...). Can wear with trainer socks if they are low enough. I have a pair of vans and a pair of YMC ones (from ASOS).

Or trainers? Join the crowd and submit to new balance...

ashmts · 03/05/2014 17:13

Agree with canvas shoes. I don't really like the skate-style slip ons but this kind are good and not as chunky looking as Converse. And these aren't exactly attractive but are great cos you can't see them under the shoe.

HercShipwright · 03/05/2014 17:16

Ankle boots (well, just below the calf) or plimsolls.

foxdongle · 03/05/2014 17:23

I always had this problem, so from last year I now wear boots until it's warm enough for proper summer gear, but not wintery looking ones.
I have a light grey pair of ankle boots and some cream calf length ones. occasionally I wear converse too.

bettykt · 03/05/2014 17:26

I'm with Hopefully here and alternating between NB 410s and leopard print skate shoes like these with black or grey skinnies.

PunchHouse · 03/05/2014 17:29

Plimsolls, if ballet flats are too smart.

I like these a lot

Doshusallie · 03/05/2014 17:35

Leopard print ballet flats aren't smart, I think they are very casual, I have a pair from primarni that I wear all the time.

cece · 03/05/2014 17:47

Birkenstocks go with everything. Just saying.

TheHandbagOfGlory · 03/05/2014 17:49

I'm wearing Sperrys

I know deck shoes are not everyone's taste but these are a different shape, sort of ballet- shoe-deck-shoe hybrid maybe?
