What to wear on feet with skinny jeans when the weather is a bit warmer?

I always have this problem.

I wear boots and skinnies all the time, but don't want to wear them in Spring - my Converse look odd (feet look too big)

I do have ballet shoes which look okay but not casual enough ... Is there anything else that would look good?

When it's really warm, I wear flip flops, but want something for that time when it's a bit chilly?

I know this is a sin - but is there anything that I could wear socks with aswell. (Willing to accept that this may not be possible)

Thanks in advance!

I just wear cheap black plimsolls from Clarks! Grin It probably helps that I have tiny feet though.

Proof of how great Birkies are

CMP69 · 03/05/2014 18:51

I have just bought these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00JLN7QCW/ref=mp_s_a_1_31?qid=1399139367&sr=8-31&pi=AC_SX110_SY165
They are very pretty but only arrived today so I haven't worn them yet

Alwaystiredandgrumpy · 03/05/2014 18:54

Wow! Thanks for all these suggestions...will definitely check some of these out. I think the slip on trainer type of pumps is what I'm looking for

Nooo! Not those with skinny jeans

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2014 22:42

Ooh I like the H&M laced ones......I have really skinny feet, Birkies are no good for me.

Might dive into H&M for a looksie Smile

Sorry but those black things are awful. Tbh I don't like many of the links on here, and don't think many of them would look okay with skinny jeans. I think your Converse would look fine - everybody thinks their feet look big in Converse but really, nobody else will be looking at your feet.

Hopefully · 04/05/2014 08:05

I'm not a fan of those black things.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 08:09

i look at converse with skinnies and think of Sideshow Bob
really

bishboschone · 04/05/2014 08:29

Those black shoes are school shoes. my daughter has exactly the same pair in plain black.. Go with pumps .. birkies will be cold and for the un blessed of height they do me no favours. They only look good on tall or very slim and small of foot ime.

SinglePringle · 04/05/2014 08:32

I bought these things of beauty. Proper big 'Ska / Rude Boy' style.

Just need me a Harrington!

PunchHouse · 04/05/2014 14:07

Slip-on deck shoes make feet look like flippers, especially on the end of skinnies.

Long narrow feet look better with wide lacing and a shorter rise up the foot. Narrow lacing and/or a high rise (even converse low tops come a long way up the foot) the more flappy your feet look, IME

Alwaystiredandgrumpy · 04/05/2014 21:40

So it looks like it's difficult to find a decent pair of shoes, that are not boots or ballet flats, to go with skinny jeans?

Still confused as to what to get.

I'm wearing Ash Virgins, they don't seem to make my feet look as boat- like as Converse do.

cannaethink · 04/05/2014 22:11

I agree with the wide laces and shorter rise up the foot. I've got a pair of Keds teacup trainers (can't seem to link to them I'm afraid!). Also, Lacoste do similar styles.

I like the grey ones?

I could have written this OP!

Yesterday I had my skinnies and a pair of grey loafers and today it is colder so it's back to the ankle boots. I hear what you're saying about socks, I hate to have cold feet too. This in-between time is always a problem for skinnies & feet, although I don't feel too bad in my Converse, I don't feel my feet look too big (size 5). I got some bright red Vans-type of pumps from Next and they look ok, and you can get some footsie socks on under them.

Good luck!
