Tummy tucking knickers, just a few questions :D

Do they work? Do they fold over when you sit down? Can you breathe/move? Where's the best place to buy them from?

I have fibroids and they push my stomach out a little, and I sometimes get bloated. I'd love to wear my dresses again but I don't feel comfortable as my stomach is often no where near flat (I'm a size 10 to 12). I can't wear tights as I look pregnant, so I thought of something to hold the tum in. Would this work?

Thank you Smile

Ah I have this same problem. My stomach (below belly button) can be totally flat one day and look 2 months pregnant the next because of fibroids. Very annoying.

Watching with interest.

LadySybilLikesCake · 26/04/2014 14:29

It's so annoying. I used to be an 8-10 but not any more Sad I don't have clothes that feel right apart from jeans as I just feel frumpy, and I can't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe. I'm hoping they will help flatten things down so that I can at least wear some of my old clothes.

They are just masses in the muscle of the uterus so I've been trying to find out whether slendertone would have an effect on them, exercise them to see if they flatten IYSWIM. I've no idea.

Sorry, I name changed. I like Sybil! Grin

Mumraathenoisylion · 27/04/2014 05:11

I wonder if that's why my stomach does the same? I've had polyp and tumour issues before.

Anyway as for holding in pants..I've found the best are H&M, they're much prettier than the brands (spanx, etc) they do the same job, if not better and are £8 rather than £50. They don't roll down and they feel really comfortable.

Mumraathenoisylion · 27/04/2014 05:12

Smile I'll have a look, thank you. In abdominal surgery they have to cut through the muscle, which would weaken it. It may be worth while seeing someone about that though.

Hassled · 27/04/2014 08:52

I've tried various ones and never really got on with them. The flab has to go somewhere - the knickers just seemed to have the effect of pushing it somewhere else. Plus, they're often so tight that getting them down and up again for a wee becomes a major event.

HazleNutt · 27/04/2014 09:13

knickers are not the best, as they do fold over and give you a VPL. Something like this works like a charm though: www.spanx.co.uk/shop/body-shapers/skinny-britchesr-super-open-bust-mid-thigh-body.html

LadySybilLikesCake · 27/04/2014 09:30

Oh Sad I'll try sorting the bloating out before investing £92 on a spanex suit I think. My tum's fairly OK today for some reason Confused

HazleNutt · 27/04/2014 09:45

you can get similar ones cheaper of course as well. I just never managed to wear those that end at waist level, should go up a bit higher.

LadySybilLikesCake · 27/04/2014 09:49

Some tights do that. I sit down and the top rolls over. If I get ones which are larger they make me look 6 months pregnant Sad The gynae said my stomach would go back to how it used to be (flat) if I had surgery to remove the fibroids Sad

I'll have a think.

I have a similar problem, 2 c-sections, 2 hernia repairs on the scar, ashesions and fibroids. I have muscle and nerve damage which makes the scar and the surronding tissue very painful, as well as bloating and pain in most of my stomach. I cannot bear anything touching the scar, just the thought of a waist band touching it makes me feel sick. I have tried all sorts of support underwear because of the muscle damage and hernia repairs, I get a terrible ache if I don't wear something supportive, but jeans are so boring everyday, and the tightness irritates my scar after a while....
The best thing I have found is Sloggi Control Briefs [[http://www.daxon.co.uk/sloggi-pack-of-2-firm-control-support-briefs.htm?ProductId=028201584]] They are cotton, so not too hot to wear every day, and a good level of support that is comfortable and not too restrictive. I wear nothing else, and have found they wash well and last a long time. They never roll down, and look nice.
If I am having a bad day, or I know I will be on my feet all day, then I wear Slim Maxi [[http://www.justsloggi.co.uk/slim-maxi]] over the top, they smooth the muffin top area as well, but these ones can roll down. They are like swim suit material, very comfy but too hot for everyday for me.
I have also ordered a maternity support belt to try, [[http://www.mothercare.com/Blooming-Marvellous-Maternity-Support-Belt/527417,default,pd.html--Maternity--PLA--Blooming%20Marvellous?gclid=CJmN7YD_gL4CFefMtAodFlcAmw&cm_mmc=Google--Maternity--PLA+-+Maternity--PLA+-+Maternity+-+PLA]] I am hoping I don't just look more pregnant in it than I already do! but I thought I could wear it around the house if it is comfortable!

Smile Thank you, I'll take a look. It sounds like you've been through the mill, I hope you're on the mend and life's being kind to you Thanks

goodasitgets · 27/04/2014 19:10

I like maidenform, particularly the flexee leggings as they are comfy to wear all day Smile

LadySybilLikesCake · 27/04/2014 19:34

I have horrid thighs. I imagine anything tight would push the 'muscle' down and make it bulge out of the bottom Sad I'm not fat, it just hangs out in the wrong places. My wrists and neck are like match sticks, great shoulders, thin ankles, it all goes Pete Tongue around my tummy and the top of my thighs.
