a pair of bootcut jeans. Dark blue denim, highish waist, nice length and very comfortable.

And I love them.

Miranda Kerr.

God she looks so unfashionable!

Check out Jessica Alba.

So unflattering!

Enjoy your new jeans TheSparkling!

I bet you look great in them!

dexter73 · 24/04/2014 21:58

God that Miranda Kerr is a bit of a minger! I have a pair of Oasis Eva bootcuts and they make a nice change from the skinnies.

KoalaFace · 24/04/2014 22:00

I pity her Dexter. Her and her unfortunate wardrobe.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/04/2014 22:56

They're all wearing the dark glasses because they are ashamed - ASHAMED I tell you to be seen out in those dark boot cuts.

I have a new unworn pair in my wardrobe just waiting for me (after my gallbladder gets sorted out)

helzapoppin2 · 24/04/2014 23:51

Love this thread!

LilyBobtail · 24/04/2014 23:51

Where are they from? I'm after a pair but is it just me or are they actually really hard to buy now?

TheSparkling · 25/04/2014 06:42

I bought my new pair from Sainsbury's. Not cutting edge in the fashion world but they had the long length which I need.

lily they are hard to buy now but I saw some in Tesco too. They were with a more 70's flare. Nice but not long enough for me.

OMG I've been out of fashion for ages, I knew if I held out I'd be back in again Grin

ImAThrillseekerBunny · 25/04/2014 07:04

I took all mine to the charity shop last month and replaced them with skinnies - once I'd done that it was only a matter of time before they returned triumphantly. (TBF my resemblance to Miranda Kerr in the ones I ditched was not marked).

HazleNutt · 25/04/2014 07:21

Tsk. You choose what flatters your figure over looking like a fashionable turnip-leg? The horror.

LilyBobtail · 25/04/2014 09:05

Well I'm short so I have the opposite problem!

I'm also after really dark ones with no fading on the thighs whatsoever. Saw these www.fatface.com/jeans/smithy-bootcut-darkest-rinse-jeans/invt/48116 at Fat Face but they are a bit pricey for me.

PastaandCheese · 25/04/2014 09:07

I might join your revolution. I was decorating last week wearing a very old pair of bootcuts as sacrificial paint trousers and they made me look so much thinner!

shakinstevenslovechild · 25/04/2014 09:12

I love bootcut jeans, absolutely love them, but then I also own a t-shirt that has Kenny Rogers emblazoned across the front of it and a penguin jumper Grin

Yangsun · 25/04/2014 09:14

Until very recently I had no idea they were the fashion faux pas of the century. Tbh I think the fashion police will find more to worry about with me than the cut of my jeans. I look horrendous in skinny jeans anyway that's on the rare occasion i can get them on over my thunderthighs

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/04/2014 09:16

I wish I looked as frumpy and unfashionable as the women in the pics above!

mum2jakie · 25/04/2014 09:16

I'm after some cheap boot cut jeans so I'll look at Sainsburys. Skinnies make me look and feel as though I've been vacuum packed!

KoalaFace · 25/04/2014 09:17

Idea - shakin lets go out wearing our bootcut jeans. You with your Kenny tshirt and me in my Dolly tshirt.

Vive la revolution!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 25/04/2014 09:19

This heartens me dearly. Skinnies make my bum look gigantic. Boot-cuts balance me out.

TheGirlFromIpanema · 25/04/2014 09:32

I have been secretly wearing bootcuts on at home days for aaaaages. They feel nice and comfy and look ok with most of my footwear if I have to pop out somewhere.

Does this mean I am a la mode again now? Grin

PeppermintInfusion · 25/04/2014 09:32

I bought a nice indigo dark wash pair in a Gap discount outlet a few weeks ago, good value if you've one near you. No fading on the thighs and very flattering, they look much better IMO with trainers/converse etc than skinnies. The only downside is I'd forgotten how soggy they get in the rain!

shakinstevenslovechild · 25/04/2014 09:34

I'm with you Koala at the very least we can get away with calling ourselves retro Grin

I say we go to a pub, get drunk and sing 'Islands In The Stream' Grin Grin
