Honest opinion on this dress

I've bought a dress. I like but I'm not sure. What you think?
Phase eight Mandy stripe maxi dress. Sorry, not sure how to link.

It's for a christening in a couple of weeks time. I have some white wedges not sure if they would be suitable? I'm only 5'3 so you wouldn't actually see the shoes.
Not sure what other accessories to wear? Don't need handbag as will use DSs change bag but should I wear necklace, bracelet etc?

Meant to add, I'm currently 4 months pg so have a small visible bump.
I love how comfy it is, but just not sure if it's very flattering? TIA

Aren't you nice, Pictish? Doing the link for the OP. Good on you.

Love the dress OP.

pictish · 22/04/2014 10:30

I like it. I'm sure it will be very flattering.

P.s learn to link...tis very simple. x

Love it Smile

SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 10:32

Oooh glad you both like it, thank you. It's my first maxi dress so think that's why I'm nervous!

OP posts:
TessTackle · 22/04/2014 10:33

It's lovely, can be dressed up or down and worn again.

pictish · 22/04/2014 10:33

Maxi dresses get slated on here for some reason, but I like them.

permaquandry · 22/04/2014 10:34

It isn't my style at all, so I'm probably biased. I think that pattern is too busy and there's too much material, it may look fab on you though.

I think wedges might look too clumpy with this dress. A short, silver chunky, but simple necklace and matching bracelet would go best. Not sure about shoes though,

I don't think I've been very helpful, sorry!

permaquandry · 22/04/2014 10:37

How rubbish was my post? Don't listen to me, I'm in sweats, with flat hair and some of this morning's breakfast down me....

Hope you find the right things to go with it and I'm sure it will look lovely.

SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 10:40

Perma I asked for honest, that's what I wanted. That's why mn is great.
I'm worried about wedges being too clunky, but would rather not buy new shoes. I need something I can walk in while holding ds.

OP posts:
pictish · 22/04/2014 10:44

I'd wear wedges with it no problem.

Casmama · 22/04/2014 10:49

Nice dress, wedges will be great and I think maxi dresses are ideal if you're pregnant.

myitchybeaver · 22/04/2014 10:53

I think it's lovely and I would wear wedges with it.

SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 11:30

Thanks everyone Smile

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 22/04/2014 11:33

Wedges are fine for the dress. It's a nice dress that can be played up or down

Hopefully · 22/04/2014 11:39

Looks good, and useful for pregnancy Smile

SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 12:14

Excellent. Any ideas for accessories? I'm in town today. I've got a cream cardi or pashmina if cool, but I wasn't sure on necklace or bracelet. I normally just wear my own good stuff but not sure if I should add some costume jewellery?

Saski · 22/04/2014 12:16

A good pregnant look.

Fizzybangfanny · 22/04/2014 12:16

Love it!

Fizzybangfanny · 22/04/2014 12:17

Can you not wear flats?

Chunky block bangles?

FoxyHarlow123 · 22/04/2014 12:46

Going against the grain to say I really don't like it. It looks a bit cheap and not 99 quids worth. However, if you like it and clearly you do, that's all that matters! I'm sure you'll look lovely in it.

almondcakes · 22/04/2014 12:48

It is lovely OP, and I am usually not a fan of maxi dresses. I think it will be very flattering.

SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 12:50

Fizzy it's too long for me to wear flats. That is what I would prefer but height not on my side.
