I've bought a dress. I like but I'm not sure. What you think?
Phase eight Mandy stripe maxi dress. Sorry, not sure how to link.

It's for a christening in a couple of weeks time. I have some white wedges not sure if they would be suitable? I'm only 5'3 so you wouldn't actually see the shoes.
Not sure what other accessories to wear? Don't need handbag as will use DSs change bag but should I wear necklace, bracelet etc?

I really like it, you could also wear it as your bump gets bigger and after your baby is born. It could even be shortened to knee length for a new look next year or accessorised with red or turquoise bangles and shoes for a change.

It says it's lined which is good for not clinging to bump, but bad if it makes it too warm later in the summer.

With 25% off and shortened if necessary, I think it will look great.

It should also fit for several months to come which is a huge boon when PG.

I think it looks cheap on the model, because she has no breasts, it isn't hanging neatly.

Like all dresses you have to try it on and see how it hangs on you.

I don't like it OP, but that's my personal taste - more importantly I think that big print in a maxi on 5'3" frame will swamp you. I also agree it doesn't look like 100 quid's worth.

Something in one colour with daintier shoulder straps might be better.

I like it though I would wear it with flat sandals.

Is it a petite size?

At 5ft 3 I wonder if it will swamp you.

I would just have a pashmina with me, diamond studs, maybe a bracelet....no necklace.

I am 5ft 6 and would find that dress long.

I like it though. SmileSmile

Is this nice? I am in two minds. I think I like it but not the belt.

yeah, I tried to find ones with a fairly substantial top half, as a lot of maxi dresses are a bit skimpy up top.
Incidentally, Oasis have have lovely midi dresses this summer.

Sorry, I don't like the pattern. It does look quite cheap for some reason (which it isn't!)

Report
Fizzybangfanny · 22/04/2014 12:51

Could you not turn it up?

Report
SweetPeaPods · 22/04/2014 12:50

Fizzy it's too long for me to wear flats. That is what I would prefer but height not on my side.

It is lovely OP, and I am usually not a fan of maxi dresses. I think it will be very flattering.

FoxyHarlow123 · 22/04/2014 12:46

Going against the grain to say I really don't like it. It looks a bit cheap and not 99 quids worth. However, if you like it and clearly you do, that's all that matters! I'm sure you'll look lovely in it.

Can you not wear flats?

Chunky block bangles?

Excellent. Any ideas for accessories? I'm in town today. I've got a cream cardi or pashmina if cool, but I wasn't sure on necklace or bracelet. I normally just wear my own good stuff but not sure if I should add some costume jewellery?
