Mary Berry wore a satin bomber jacket about 2 years ago-so no not that teenagery!

What would you wear it with?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 18/04/2014 23:23

Regardless of age, I just can't see how you'd wear a thing like that. Sorry - just don't like black and white silk bomber jackets!

thenightsky · 18/04/2014 23:29

its not good

burnishedsilver · 19/04/2014 00:22

My first reaction when I read the title was that its all in the styling. You can style an item differently to suit different ages. Very little is out of bounds.

Having seen the jacket however....yes it is teenagerey. I can't think what you could do with it to make it work.

burnishedsilver · 19/04/2014 00:26

.....unless you're a jockey. It could work for horse racing Grin

Nocomet · 19/04/2014 01:20

I'm afraid that would look daft on my teenagers. The whites to white to be casual and the styling to casual to be smart. It just doesn't work.

BrianTheMole · 19/04/2014 01:22

I just don't like that. On anyone.

AgathaF · 19/04/2014 05:50

I don't like it. Can't imagine who it would suit. The model doesn't look too pleased with it either Grin.

TheElectricMayhem · 19/04/2014 06:05

The jacket is better than those 'mom' jeans the model is wearing! Hideous.

BumWad · 19/04/2014 06:12

Awful

JapaneseMargaret · 19/04/2014 07:02

Gosh, I hate to be mean about something someone loves, but that jacket is wrong.

And yes, undoubtedly too teenagery even for a teenager.

50ShadesOfSummer · 19/04/2014 07:47

Not really liking it. but not really hating it either. As TheElectric says: the jeans are the fashion crime here.

If you like it liberty it's fine. What would you wear it with? Skinny black trousers and white top? Black fitted shorts and black tights?

eurochick · 19/04/2014 07:49

I had exactly the same reaction as burnishedsilver.

merlehaggard · 19/04/2014 07:56

I like it (am 44), wouldn't wear it myself but think it could work on some people.

lavenderhoney · 19/04/2014 07:57

Is it a tracksuit top? I wouldn't even wear it out running though, personally.

I don't think it would look nice on anyone, ESP styled with those jeans!

kelda · 19/04/2014 07:59

I really like satin bomber jackets, but not that one. Go for something plainer.

MrsBungle · 19/04/2014 08:01

I don't think anyone of any age should be wearing that jacket.

kelda · 19/04/2014 08:03

The jeans are appalling.

EasterSundaySimmons · 19/04/2014 08:14

Unless you are good friends with Joanie and Chachie and want to hang out at your local soda bar with them, then no, you shouldn't even contemplate wearing that jacket.

frankietwospots · 19/04/2014 09:31

Eeek. I find black and white quite harsh and coupled the satin finish, it could be quite unflattering and difficult to wear. There are more flattering options available - I have this Next one in grey (the red is nice too):

Zara do nice bomber jackets too. The navy and white one is much nicer in real life.

patothechiefexec · 19/04/2014 09:52

I don't like that at all. Looks odd with jeans and would look odd with smart clothes.

frankie's suggestions are much better.

QueenQueenie · 19/04/2014 09:59

Of course you could wear it if you love it op.
I think it would work with a rather minimalist simple look - well fiitting black cigarette pants / pencil skirt and very simple black shell top (tucked in) for instance and a bit of heel.

The people dissing it just don't like it - but that shouldn't put you off.
Those jeans would indeed look super mumsy on err, a mum - but the model is a teenager and it's a current look! It's fashion innit.

^^^ Totally agree with this. Its not my taste but it could look good depending how you wear it. You could put it on with a pair of black wideleg trousers, black retro trainers and it would look completely different to the picture.

libertytrainers · 19/04/2014 10:59

okay am definitely taking it back. Grin

OP posts:
Floisme · 19/04/2014 11:13

Op please don't take it back when you love it. You weren't asking people whether they liked it, just whether it was too young. As it doesn't reveal anything and and doesn't have pictures of Barbie on the front, I don't see a problem.
