How many hand bags to you own?

I've just been sorting out/decluttering/tidying. DH says I have far too many bass cluttering the house. I counted 6 under the bed (evening bags/clutch bags) and 10 under the stairs which includes work bags and messenger bags etc.

I actually don't think thats many. I said I'd ask mumsnet. He reckons 3-4 will be about average. Please tell him he's wrong?

I have 3 but I'm not really interested in bags. I make up for it by having far too many clothes.

4 leather bags which are: one evening/wedding, two shoulder bags and one cross body bag, two box clutches,1 or maybe 2 other small non leather clutch bags, two other small fabric evening bags, a rucksack, 3 or 4 small non leather cross body bags, two non leather satchels and maybe 3 other other non leather shoulder bags

I'll get your average down, I only have two. I just threw a few old dusty ones out.

I'm a bit scared to add them all up to be honest:

4 x Orla Kiely (1 small handbag, 2 medium size shoulder bags, 1 tote)

4 x Zatchels (2 barrel bags, 2 saddle bags)

2 x Ally Capellino satchels (my favourite of all, I just love them)

1 x Hobbs cross body bag

1 x DKNY cross body bag

1 x black shoulder bag

Aside from the Ally Capellino ones which are in pretty much constant rotation, I use the Orla Kiely tote a lot as an additional bag for work for all my day to day detritus.

The ones I use least are all of the other Orla bags (used to love them, think I've just moved on to the Ally Capellino ones as a default now - may sell them), and the Zatchels ones. I really like the Zatchels barrel bags I have but only use them when I go out at night and need to carry very little, as they are v small. I have a large saddle bag which I sometimes use for work, but it just doesn't seem to work very well - it's so narrow and difficult to get things in and out. Plus when I take one thing out, everything else is displaced and it all kind of collapses. I like the way they look, but they don't work very well for me in real life.

Actually, although that's a lot it isn't as bad as I expected it to be. Plus, they were all bought at sample sales, or in the sale. Counting down to the Spring Ally Capellino sample sale now...

First two both fit my small 11inch mac book so Either for work. I added a small wet bag for reusable nappys and folding change mat to either first two when used as changing bag ( out of nappy stage now)

I do think 16 is a lot.

Five in total:

2 smallish handbags.
1 larger handbag (needs to be replaced as on last legs)
1 work bag (ditto above)
1 bag which I use for children's things if we are out for most of the day.

In my defence they are not expensive designer bags. Mainly tk maxx I guess.

I have two - big tan one and a mini cross body.

I want more though - a black/grey big one. But honestly can't find one I like enough.

3 clutch/evening bags:miu miu,Valentino, Stella M

I'm selling a couple I've not used in awhile to fund a new bag purchase . It never ends. Its like an addiction,always looking for my next fix!

Do you know about vestaire collective novella? Great for selling designer bags.

I honestly don't know. They are under beds, in cupboards, in boxes. I keep discovering them. It's lovely. They are my weakness. Along with boots.

• 6 other small bags/clutches (random brands from boutiques, markets)... plus a couple of rucksacks, beach bags (let's not get into luggage). That looks a lot now I've listed it. I use most of them - not the M+S Autograph bags so much now, but they are old and have had good use.

On the positive side, apart from one AH which was a present, I didn't pay full price for any of the other branded bags - they were all bought in sales or in outlets at significant discount (tries to justify purchases to self)

I just like bags and I hold both hands up - send your DP round to rummage in my wardrobes and cupboards and he would think your collection extremely modest

3 or 4 is not average.

A women easily needs at least 4. A work handbag/briefcase, a daytime handbag, a going out clutch, and a holdall for gym/long weekends.

I have 20 odd.

armani I read really worrying reviews about VC, I know someone who is a top ebay seller and kindly agreed to list them for me, I'm trying to get a Chanel WOC,but i always end up buying a celine,Must resist next time,but then I saw the celine pre fall handbag collection and I want them all now!
