Are Michael kors bags a bit tacky?

I've been thinking of getting myself one as I really like the shape of the totes, but I know the watches are beloved of teenage girls and I just wanted to check whether the handbags are viewed as a bit off or not.

Tacky isn't really the word I want but I can't think what it is!

They were all over Glasgow when we were there last. And they were all over in the US when we were there Xmas, 2012.

I think like most designer bag ranges there are some bags that are more blingy than others.

I have a navy MK Jet set tote, I use it for work as it has a lap top sleeve. I must say I had to cut the big gold MK medallion off though, it was a little too much for me. I really rate it for quality, they are great for the money.

I bought one for Autumn but I wouldn't have another one. They are a bit tacky, everyone has them & I felt a bit WAG tbh.

They are certainly not a bit tacky. They are ABSOLUTELY tacky. And stupidly expensive for something so cheap looking.

They are the bag of choice for teenage girls in Edinburgh. I was dithering over one online but when I went into the shop it did look a bit cheap. Shame, it was a lovely shape.

See that's what I was worried about.

Right can anyone make any other suggestions, I like classic and boxy shapes. Have a click on my link and you will see the type of thing I am after.

I have five Coach bags from my old life back in the US that would be considered vintage. They are still in fab shape. But the stuff they have been putting out the past 5 years is CRAP.

Ditto a lot of Kate Spade. I have three of those from about 17 years ago that are lovely. But her present stuff is soooo over-priced.

Have one very, very good LV fake from Singapore and one very, very good Gucci fake from Hong Kong, but even these fakes weren't cheap.

That one is way, way classier and better than those naffo MK bags with the logos and that tacky gold MK thingy.

You can take the 'tacky' gold MK thingy off easily.

All my Michael Kors bags are 'Jetset' totes of various designs/ sizes/ colours.
I don't like 'blingy' bags with loads of gold metal hardware on them.

That is a good buy. I like MK bags a lot and hopefully my next bag will be this it's a gorgeous mid sized but compact tomato red cross body. I am attracted to 'tacky' though Blush

Yes, they are indeed tacky. Recently looked round the London shop and found them all horribly blingy and not at all to my taste.

Though then that Jet Set might be OK if you took the tag off- but have seen so many in this style in London recently on tube etc that firstly am bored with them and secondly think a lot must be copies from market stalls etc but can't tell which is which, which speaks for itself I think!

Your bag is far more tasteful and classic, Rhonda. A much better choice.

MK bag too blingy.
