Flat knee length boots

Am looking for a pair of knee length flat boots to wear with everything, budget around £50. I have large feet (UK size 8, european 41-42, depending on width). Has anybody seen anything like this that might fit the bill? I'd love to go and have a wander in town for them but with 4 year old and 6 month old there doesn't seem to be much opportunity. The budget probably restricts things a bit as well. All suggestions gratefully received.

you could try M&S they have very reasonable boots

The nicest long flat boots I have are from Jones but they were more expensive (one pair was a tenner in the sale tho!)

saltire · 18/08/2006 13:24

I'm sure i saw some on the dorothy perkins website!

scotchick · 18/08/2006 13:26

Just to say I looked for the very thing last year, and found a pair in Clarks.. tried them on and they looked like black wellies on me! Had to go for a bit of a heel in the end.

Bugsy2 · 18/08/2006 13:26

Zara have got a selection in at the moment - not sure what price they are though.

Enid · 18/08/2006 13:27

I really really want a pair too

any suggestions for me?

themoon66 · 18/08/2006 13:28

I got some last year from Dolcis. 35 quid in the sale. Also got some from M&S one year.

fairyfly · 18/08/2006 13:28

mmm, i hate to say it but boden have some gorgeous ones and i really really want them.

CountessDracula · 18/08/2006 13:30

Enid have you tried Jones?

Enid · 18/08/2006 13:30

the mink suede ones ff?

they are the only thing I have EVER considered buying from boden (for me)

fairyfly · 18/08/2006 13:34

Those ones Enid, just something about them.

scotchick · 18/08/2006 13:35

Isn't it funny that Boden brings forth such feelings of guilt!!! I do love their children's clothes but couldn't dress my kids that way for fear of reprisals in the n/hood - bitching etc!

fairyfly · 18/08/2006 13:35

Now if anyone can find me those for 30 pounds..............

scotchick · 18/08/2006 13:36

Fairyfly, just looked at them and they are indeed gorgeous! Put mine to shame....

Enid · 18/08/2006 13:36

yes I agree

I love them they are like desert boots

may HAVE to get them

scotchick · 18/08/2006 13:39

thing is, my calf muscles are so enormous I wouldn't be able to wear them with a knee length skirt, and I really like that look.

Enid · 18/08/2006 13:40

would the mink be weird with black tights and skirts though?

themoon66 · 18/08/2006 13:40

Enid - you are right. Black tights and skirt with mink boots... big no-no.

Blu · 18/08/2006 13:41

I bought some balck suede falt boots from Hobbs last year and LOVED them. But they were (145.

I think BikerBobs (available from the Natural Shoe Store0 do them for about £70....

Shue any good?

Blu · 18/08/2006 13:42

Enid - if you went for a conscious black and brown look it would be ok - mink - ish cardi (v this season) or jumper, black skirt, possibly textured pattern mink or black tights and the boots.

Blu · 18/08/2006 13:43

Liquorice Allsorts are dead smart and they are black and brown.

CountessDracula · 18/08/2006 13:44

Ahhh my £10 ones from Jones are very like those mink ones with crepe soles.

fairyfly · 18/08/2006 13:45

Now what would you wear these with???????

Enid · 18/08/2006 13:48

a smug grin

scotchick · 18/08/2006 13:48

Not for me, note calf circumference! It would be great to be able to wear them though. I remember when I was looking, loads of black boots came half way up the calf and in one shop I couldn't even get the zip up! Mortification! I sound like a freak, actually size 10/12 but with freakish calves.

themoon66 · 18/08/2006 13:54

Bloody hell... I just measured my calves - 14 and half inches . And I get teased coz of my skinny looking legs!! Am I some kinda freak?
