Foundation for deathly pale skin

Firstly, I do not tan. I spent a month in LA and came back just as white as when I left despite not using sunscreen. Every foundation I've ever used has left me looking orangey to say the least.
Finally after many years I've found a combination that works for me. Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer followed by a Maybelline Whitestay Foundation in snow white I picked up from the 99p store a while ago. It's the perfect shade for me, ghost white! On top of that I use a loose No.7 powder.

My problem is I'm now running very low of the Maybelline whitestay and it seems to be quite rare and expensive now.

Can anyone recommend me a porcelain white foundation please thats not too expensive and readily available on the highstreet?

I find that the cheaper drugstore foundations are never pale enough. They all seem very yellow.

I can heartily recommend Illamasqua Skin Base foundation in Shade 2. It is incredibly pale (too pale for me so I use it to lighten other foundations) and the coverage and formula are gorgeous.

It's not super cheap (£25ish) but a little goes a very long way so it lasts for ages.

Illamasqua is worth a try, but the great budget options that I use are Lily Lolo in Porcelain Revlon Colorstay in Ivory in the past (slightly too pink but very pale).
Dr Jart BB cream is good too.

I have very pale skin and use L'Oreal Rose Ivory powder foundation.

Chips, the Nicola Roberts stuff looked ideal but it looks like it's being wound down because thats also impossible to find now

Eyeliner Queen, thanks I'll have a look at that. I don't mind paying a bit more for the right colour and if it lasts. Could kick myself though that I didn't buy the entire shelf full of whitestay from the 99p store now though.

I am a pinky white though - probably wouldn't work with any yellow tones

I think I'll have to brave a visit to the makeup counter and have a look whats there and tests some brands, hate that, I like to run in to Superdrug, pick up something cheap and leave quickly .
I'm just white white. My Mother has spent the last 20 odd years convinced I'm anaemic (I'm not).

I've been using Loreal Nude Magique eau du Teint, in the lightest shade.

I'm very pale too and find it works really well with my skin.

I've always meant to try the make up range for pale people Nicola (the red head) from Girls Aloud brought out. Unsure if it's still going but it is made especially for us pale types!

MAC Face and Body foundation is available in white and can be mixed with other liquid foundations.

Laval Secret Beauty foundation is superb for pale skins. They do very pale shades.

It's so cheap but lovely stuff and very similar if nor identical to Chanel Lumiere.

I second MAC face & body in white, you get loads for the price and then you can mix it with whatever foundation you fancy to get the right colour for you.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Antoinette, a bottle of Mac face and body in white that you could mix into any other foundation would last you for ages.

It would also mean that you've have a much greater choice over the type of foundation you use because you could choose one you actually like the look and finish of, not just be forced to use a foundation you could find in the right colour.

Lily Lolo mineral powder foundation - I'm more pale and interesting than Jane Eyre, and they do a great selection for us. They also sell sample size pots (which will last a good week or so) for you to experiment with. I wear the China Doll shade in winter months and mix with translucent finishing powder in pale months, and their sheer finishing powder, which has a peachy tint, in my freckly summer months. Lasts ages, waterproof, sweatproof, 12 hour shift proof, so quick my toddler doesn't have time to disappear off to wreck stuff and ethically produced. Winner.

No wonder you're pale, isn't whitestay a bleaching foundation?! If you like Gosh they do a very pale BB cream, the only face product I've ever found in a budget range that was pale enough for me.

Revlon Colorstay in Ivory is the only high street foundation that comes close to being pale enough, and it's still a bit too dark!

I'm currently using Nars Sheer Glow Compact (not liquid) in Siberia.

I use Lancôme 24h in shade 010 porcelain - I am whiter than a milk bottle...!

Another vote for Illamasqua.

I find it excellent value because of the coverage.

Rimmel porcelain isn't a bad cheapo alternative, but I reckon Illamasqua actually works out cheaper in the long run.

Oooh forgotten about Laval! Also good but you need to be good at applying in sheer layers or it goes v cakey.

Lily Lolo do foundations that are even too pale for this never tanned Celt. They do foundation starter packs with 3 small sizes of similar shades so you can work out which one or combination works best for you

I'm very pale and always struggled with foundations. Most counters and brands were completely ruled out as they just didn't go pale enough.

So I was very pleased to discover Lancôme have started doing paler shades. I actually had a choice of 3 slightly differently toned pale shades in the Teint Idole 24hr foundation.

It was a close one between 005 and 010. 005 is slightly paler. I went with 010 in the end but would happily wear 005 too.

If you ask for samples they will give you a generous amount to try at home. The two tiny bottles I had lasted a couple of months before I bought the full size.

Oh and I'm cool to neutral toned. Typical Celtic colouring of pale skin and darkish hair.

Some great ideas here, thanks ladies! I'm liking the MAC mix your own suggestion, I'll be googling those and watching that vid later over a cuppa and a jaffa cake.

Orange,I don't believe the maybelline has bleach in it, if it does it's made no difference to my skin tone. It's a high spf but as I don't change colour anyway that makes little odds.
I believe the white stay is favored by the likes of beyonce for skin lightening, though it's not permanent.
