Have I ruined my eyebrows? Is there anything I can do?

I think for years I used to overpluck the inside edge without realising, and now I have realised it just doesn't grow much there.
Will it grow back in time, or is there something to help?

I saw on the telly that someone had eye brow implants, but she had no brows at a all and had not had for a long time. Can you have brows tattooed on? I'm not sure? Are they very thin or do they have gaps in them. If they have gaps you could try filling them in with a pencil. May be go to a make up counter and ask, I think Benefit are good. If it makes you feel self conscious then it's not nice for you but probably no one else notices much.

I am missing half my eyebrow on one eye through over plucking . Years later it's never grown back, I use pencil to disguise but it's not a great effect. I feel your pain

Oh well, at least mine are even. I didn't notice until the therapist doing my wyebrow threading asked if I'd plucked them in between visits. I realised afterwards that she rivalry thought if done that bit recently...

I did that to mine for years, managed to grow them back with Talika Lipocils you can get it from Space NK. Took a few months for them to come back and it's not as thick as the rest of my eyebrow but it looks a lot better

Thanks for that link, I've got naturally sparse brows and brow pencil has managed to pull out more hairs making them very patchy. Will give this a go.

You'll have to go cold turkey and let them grow back. I have a feeling Rapidlash now make a Rapidbrow, it won't be cheap but might help them thicken up.

They look fine to me . I'd not notice anything. They may grow back in time. I've stated having my eyebrows threaded. It hurts but seems more predictable than plucking.

If you need to fill them in you may find a matt powder shadow more natural looking than a pencil. Pencils are great for those who just need definition over an existing brow but I find when I have to add to a brow powder is just that bit more natural looking. I brush a small amount of wax through the brow first (not the skin, just the hair) then use a hard angle brush to apply the powder and extend the brow out. It looks much softer, especially on more mature skin and easier to get a colour match.

Soap and glory Archery is a brilliant pencil as one end of it is a very thin brush with a tint. Obviously that's not going to make them grow but you can get quite a good natural look.

Have you considered getting HD brows? They tint and shape the brows (waxing, threading and plucking) - the dye is really good at filling in gaps and you can buy an HD brow kit too keep the look in between appointments. Google the before and afters and you will see what it can do.

Get thee to the Benefit counter. They do a brow kit with wax and powder in it and a product called 'gimmie brows' for sparse areas.

Made a massive difference to mine.

Oh, you can get them tattooed on.... My sister had this done. Seems a bit extreme to me though.

Wow, lots of replies! I'm not keen on having to put stuff on them every day, so will just be careful not to pluck and investigate the rapid brow / petroleum jelly etc. and hope for the best!

YY castor oil. It's the main ingredient in Talika so i'd try plain cheap old castor oil first

Another vote for castor oil, also works for eyelash re growth too. Plenty of info about it if you google.

I think cold pressed castor oil is best quality.

Oh god - don't drink castor oil!!

It'll either give you terrible squits or make you sick - ideal if that's what you needed to do, but not if you just want to rescue your eyebrows!!

I have mine tattooed on. It's not permanent; I got mine done in August and have to go back to get them topped up next month (£30, so doesn't break the bank). They basically do a line of ink in between the individual hairs to make them look fuller. It is fabulous though, best thing I've ever done s&b-wise. So nice not having to draw them on every time you go out!
