Slippers that don't fall apart in a couple of months

Firstly, I'm aware that slippers are neither stylish or beautiful but in my old house with slate floors they're are pretty darn essential.

I'm sick of buying them for them to fall apart a couple of months later. Are there any slippers that might last longer? I have a maximum budget of £30.

Thanks

Moshulu - last for ever.

Percephone · 09/03/2014 14:29

Crocs. They're not fluffy but they are comfy and last forever!

GiniCooper · 09/03/2014 15:13

Crocs here too.

Spookey80 · 09/03/2014 15:22

Moshulu, I love mine, had current pair 2 years now and still pretty good.
My mum has them too!,,

JohnCusacksWife · 09/03/2014 15:25

Love my Just Sheepskin ones. They last forever. They cost a bit more that £30 thou but def. worth it.

blueberryboybait · 09/03/2014 15:28

No sure what their prices are like atm but I have a positively ancient pair of Celtic & Co slippers which I got nearly 8 years ago.

msrisotto · 09/03/2014 15:31

I haven't had these for months yet but I love them and don't see them breaking down any time soon. www.amazon.co.uk/Isotoner-Womens-Popcorn-Slippers-95297WHI6/dp/B009Z742JY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394379064&sr=8-3&keywords=popcorn+slippers

I have a pair of brown suede Ted Baker moccasins and they are brilliant. I've had them for years and they still look good.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 09/03/2014 15:43

I've just replaced my Moshulus after several years of wearing daily apart from the height of summer, the soles still had a lot of wear in them but my toe had gone through one. Replaced them with the exact same ones as I have been so pleased with them.

TallulahBetty · 09/03/2014 15:47

Sainsburys slippers last forever. Or crocs.

hanbee · 09/03/2014 18:18

Thanks everyone. Several moshulu shops round my way so will have a look at those.

my current ones are Sainsburys and lasted 2 months before the toes fell apart. Perhaps because I spend so much time crawling on the floor playing cars.

Like the idea of sheepskin ones too so will investigate all your recommendations.

Thanks very much

Birkenstock do slippers that last for a hundred years (maybe a slight exaggeration). - i've had the same pair for about 3 years and they're still going, and not stinky (yet).

Gillybobs · 09/03/2014 18:53

Moshulu ballet pump style are fabulous, proper rubber soles, last for years and not too embarrassing if you are caught outside in them : )

bryte · 09/03/2014 18:59

Moshulu too. I was just commenting to DH that he should get some from there because mine have lasted for years. And I have taken plain black ballet pump style to a friend's house for dinner because her tiles are too cold on her kitchen floor but I don't like wearing shoes inside Blush .

MrsMcGregor · 09/03/2014 20:46

Ugg Anysley's. I got a pair for Christmas and they are so comfortable and warm.

thenightsky · 09/03/2014 20:49

I got some 18 months ago from Asda. fur lined ugg looking ones. Decent soles so I can go hang washing outside. £8 approx.

boogiewoogie · 09/03/2014 22:40

What is sizing like for Moshulu please? Is it accurate or too big/small?

OddFodd · 09/03/2014 22:44

Haflinger German boiled wool slippers. You can put them in the washing machine, they're super warm, super soft and all round fab. I think they're quite stylish as slippers go too

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 09/03/2014 22:46

I'm a 39 with wide feet, my Moshulus (the boottee style) are a 39 and are quite generous, if you will be wearing them mostly barefoot you might want to drop down a size, I like to be able to wear them with or without socks so I do like them a bit loose.

Moshulu seems to be accurate sizing. I'm a size 8 and they are a true size 8, not a 41.

dizhin79 · 10/03/2014 08:35

mens marks and Spencer slippers!! I'm a size 7, not sure how shall they go, great grips v comfy I've had them since b4 Xmas and they still look new! I'm in an old cottage, tiled and wooden floors everywhere too.

Certainly not uber chic, but bloody comfy and only £12 a pop!

hanbee · 10/03/2014 17:54

I have titchy narrow feet so no way could I do mens slippers!

I've concluded I am not stylish at all as I want ALL these slippers.

North face tent mules - have converted me into a slipper wearer.

icanmakeyouicecream · 10/03/2014 20:44

If you could possibly stretch .. Scuffette by UGG are just amazing!
