£4 for a nail brush (£1.50 next door in super drug)

£5 for a small pot of flavored lip balm circa 1998

Round body brush £10. It didn't even have a hook so it'll end up sitting in the soap scum in the shower tray after use

They had 40% off everything last week, I got a bottle of sulphate free shampoo, bottle of conditioner, vitamin E tinted moisturiser, and coconut hair shine for £12.

The tinted moisturiser is lovely, haven't tried the others yet??

Branleuse · 01/02/2014 14:06

No one ever said it was as cheap as superdrug. Its a different shop.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 01/02/2014 14:06

Eh? Those of us on the bargain threads are always saying we don't know how they keep going with their (almost permanent) 40% off + free gifts, half price this, half price that, buy 2 get 1 free offer/offer/sale/offer etc etc. Not forgetting about 16% cashback!

It's lovely stuff as well.

Pantone363 · 01/02/2014 14:06

Yes they always have discounts, codes, free gifts. Isn't that because they're overpriced in the first place?

Hop- the Vitamin E illuminating day cream is the best (and loveliest smelling) moisturiser I've had in yeeeeears. And I have spent £103 on a pot of Elemis before now.

Never again!

DrankSangriaInThePark · 01/02/2014 14:09

I don't think so, no. I would buy the cocoa butter body butter at double the price. It's heaven in a tub.

Superdrug stuff is OK. But not a patch on BS. I bought the Superdrug Vit E stuff after reading about it on here, but it smells very artificial and wasn't moisturey enough for my aged cracked face.

Ihatemytoes · 01/02/2014 14:37

There's 25% off everything at the mo.

IamInvisible · 01/02/2014 14:41

I never buy anything when it's full price in the Body Shop and I order at least monthly. Their tea-tree foaming face wash is excellent for my teens' skin. I have just started using the Vitamin E serum and I have noticed a vast difference in my skin, I have even had other people comment on it, so I would pay double for that!

squoosh · 01/02/2014 15:31

I wouldn't dream of paying full price for Body Shop stuff when they have such frequent sales. I picked up three body butters and three shower gels for £12 last week plus free postage.

I would full price for their Camomile Cleansing Butter if I had to though.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/02/2014 18:49

I buy when they are on offer. Shampoo is normally 6.50 a bottle but I never pay that. Last week I had 3 bottles delivered for 7.20.

peasandlove · 01/02/2014 19:28

I think it's overpriced too . Down here in NZ $30 for a tub of body butter is a bit much. I never see them offering a discount either

squoosh · 01/02/2014 20:19

$30 for a tub of body butter?

Holy moly!

All cosmetics are mega expensive in NZ/Aus aren't they?

peasandlove · 01/02/2014 20:25

yup pretty much. Even rimmel is expensive.. like $20 for a foundation that you guys pay 4 quid for. Maybelline mascara bought from the supermarket is about $27. Thank god for the internet really.

squoosh · 01/02/2014 20:28

27 dollars for crappy old Maybelline? Bloody hell, dread to think what a Dior mascara would cost!

I suppose it's import costs, but even still that seems ridiculously expensive.

TeamWill · 01/02/2014 20:37

Online its easy to get 50% off - I never go in store.

TheGreatHunt · 01/02/2014 20:38

Body shop stuff is quality. Best shampoo and conditioner for my dd's wild and curly mane, awesome moisturisers etc.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 01/02/2014 20:43

IAmInvisible, yes I have the serum too, and I love it. Easily as good as posh stuff I've had. And the smell takes me back to the 80s when I first used it.

Ememem84 · 01/02/2014 20:43

I only ever buy bodyshop lovelies when they are on sale. I'm a fan of both the pink grapefruit and the passion fruit body butter. Normally about £12 a pot.

They were both £5 a pot the other day. So I stocked up.

I also really like their shower gels. Also only buy hen on special offer.

chanie44 · 01/02/2014 21:35

I've only rediscovered the body shop in the past year and am amazed at how regularly they do offers and discounts.

I have a loyalty card and was sent a voucher for a free lip balm. I also had a £10 loyalty voucher to spend and got conditioner, hand cream and 3 bars of soap.

Allthingsprettyreturns · 01/02/2014 21:45

I remember the time when you could barely move in tbs for teens wanting dewberry perfume etc. it was the height of sophistication.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2014 21:47

White musk perfume anyone? Blush

DavidHarewoodsFloozy · 01/02/2014 21:53

I,d forgotton whiitemusk and dewberry do they still do them?

Allthingsprettyreturns · 01/02/2014 22:23

The body shop perfumes were the scents of my yoof

OneLittleLady · 01/02/2014 22:35

The sea one for me, Oceanous or something? I think I have a tiny wee bottle of the oil version of it floating around somewhere
