Anyone heard of porosity equaliser? or done a home keratin treatment?

My hair is rubbish. Been bleaching it for years and changing tge colour regularly. I decided to settle on a mid brown colour and stick with it but the colour fades from the mid lengths and ends in about a week.

I've done some googling and lots of people say a porosity equaliser will help the colour hold on to the hair. But I can't find where to buy any in the uk and I'm also a little afraid of damaging my hair even more.

I've also been looking at home keratin treatment but I've heard you can really screw up your hair with this if you mess it up!

Can anyone help? I just look terrible all the time.. cutting it out isn't really an option yet as it's only shoulder length.

I've done a home Keratin treatment. There was a massive thread last year, I'll do a search in a mo. Nobody had any adverse effects and it leaves your hair in great condition, you can't wash it for 3 days.

I used it to relax my curly, frizzy hair and it did. It's promoted as a straightening treatment though it didn't leave it straight, but straighter than it was IYSWIM.

You can't do it within 2 weeks of having it coloured. If your hair is very straight already it may not be what you want.

Haven't heard of the porosity thing but I've been doing my very frizzy, coarse hair with the home keratin treatment for about three years now and it's fantastic, lasts about 3-4 months and it gives me silky, glossy hair which I can manage, as opposed to Crystal Tipps bush :o

Hmmm. My hair is not in bad condition as such, and is already pretty straight. Was hoping for something that would help it hold colour better. I guess keratin doesn't do that?

crispy can you link to the product you use please?

op my hair is getting quite dry and frazzled at the mid lengths-ends . I haven't coloured it in 6m and try to get regular cuts, just have weak hair Sad

nibly

this is what I use and I think a lot of other mn'ers do too.. I must admit I'm crap at hair so I need help to do it but if you're a dab hand with straighteners and have a lot of patience you could probably do it yourself
