... wannabe fancy watch or actually quite stylish and elegant?

I like the look of it and like a bit of sparkle but not ott. It's tricky to know by just looking at the pictures online. My birthday is coming up and I'd like to get a good watch. I love tag heuer but their watched are out of my reach.

Personally, I do think it does look a bit cheap, although it is pretty. You could get a Michael Kors one for that price. Something like this, but you could probably get one more like the one you posted.

I don't thing it looks very elegant - the pink face and the diamonds together - too much in my opinion.

Mm, bit cheap. I think it's the pink face/diamonds combination, but it looks like it could easliy be, say, Next.

if you want diamonds and that finish pay more and get a classier finish. otherwise the MK watch is classier and though no diamonds you get the bling.

My sister (teacher, private school) was given a bulova watch like that and loves it. I think it probably looks lovely in real life.

I think you really can't tell from a photo.

The Bulova and the Kors look fairly similar, Kors stuff can look quite cheap itself, so I don't think it's a given the Kors will be better.

I know this sounds a bit ridiculous but this Tag Heuer which costs about 3k also looks a bit tacky on the picture... Or?

The one I linked to is waaaay out of my league but since hitting the big 4 0, I like to buy really good stuff or nothing at all. I feel I don't get away with 'fast but cheap' fashion any more so therefore I just wondered if the Bulova watch was 'classy' or tacky....

I have a Bulova similar to this and this which my fiancé bought me for Christmas a few years ago. I love it and wear it all the time :)

It does look cheap - as does that TAG which is why mine has a mother of pearl face and no diamonds...

I also hate Michel Kors watches, and any day now they are going to be soooo dated.

For £800-£1000 you can get a really beautiful classy watch that will last you a lifetime if you choose something in a classic style. Save up and do that rather than spending £300 on something which you will want to replace in a couple of years.
