Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

Morning!

Your breakfast sounds delish dry!

To be fair to KM, the papers have printed some very unflattering pictures at weird angles on purpose I think. I thought she actually looked ok on her birthday, especially after all that excess.

But the rock chick look is very difficult to pull of when you're getting a bit older.

Not sure what DH thinks about KM but he does prefer slim women. Consequently he is very happy with my weightloss. Wink

But other than that I don't think he has a 'type' although he does like to watch Bulletproof Monk for the actress Jamie King the fight scenes.

Decameron · 17/01/2014 09:32

Lovely skirt Stokey.

Thanks Shop.

Kate Moss is pretty cool still.

Matches are telling me that they haven't received my two returns which were collected by their own courier in a little Matchesfashion van ten days ago. Really unimpressed with their customer service.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/01/2014 09:41

Morning!

dry you're making my stomach rumble, as are mignonette's pins!

stokey beautiful skirt, you must be torn between loving and hating your office location Wink

decam that sounds rubbish, hope they sort it for you soon and with any luck give you a nice code or something.

Just bought a couple of these for me and my sister as she had some bad news this week. I'm always on the lookout for nice plain reasonably priced and reasonable quality yellow gold stuff (the downside of being a warm season!)

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Oh and I would love to come to a future meet up if invited, when I know people better and feel less scared at the prospect Grin

LinusDKD · 17/01/2014 09:44

That's not good decam!

I was just going to ask when the Matches sale ends, as I might have seen something else I like.

QueenCadbury · 17/01/2014 09:47

All fine thanks shop.

My dh adores Ellie from countryfile and I also found out last week that he likes rachel Riley from countdown.

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 09:50

Blair you'd be very welcome.
Decam that is poor
Looks as though both DH and I will be out when DHL comes so the dress may not be here until Monday now - can't stand the pressure! Grin
Off swimming with DS - still thinking about the amazing costumes from the film last night - just brill. shame the storyline was so slow

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 09:53

QueenC you look like Ellie a bit so that's all good surely? When I met DH he had previously gone for blonds (ex wife was blond). His celebrity crush was Andi McDowell, oh and Kylie - not sure why he married me!? Hmm

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 09:54

That's a compliment BTW - I think Ellie is v pretty......

QueenCadbury · 17/01/2014 10:05

Ah thnks shop. He just wishes I had long hair like her. You're much better than andi McDowell!

And surely all men and women have a crush on Kylie?

MarshaBrady · 17/01/2014 10:09

Don't think so, will have to check. Too short I think!

Annianni · 17/01/2014 10:14

Morning...

Who is a size 24 in jeans, apart from Foxy?
Is Blond too?

BrandyAlexander · 17/01/2014 10:18

Morning! Just been to see the work the engineers and builders have been doing in the new house. All the speakers are in the ceilings, cabling down, looks greatSmile I left the electrician there banging away, I am so glad we have not had to live through it all!

I am wearing my helmut lang curved hem sweater there. It's a gorgeous sweater, but I regret having my confidence crisis thing last year where I foolishly bought one size bigger. I kept this one, but it would look even better if it wasn't so loose.

Dry your breakfast made me Envy

I am working from home today, and also putting together another to do list for my PAs.

It's my work PA's birthday coming up soon so need to find her something nice. She's a busy mum, is totally amazing (goes well and beyond her job description) and I like to pamper her with products etc. I bought her some bath oils from Jo Malone for Xmas which she likes and I was thinking of her getting her one of those full gift set baskets. If anyone has any better pamper product ideas, would love to hear them!

libertychick · 17/01/2014 10:20

My DH likes Kirsty Allsop! He would love it if I wore dresses and heels like her - no chance! He also has a soft spot for Rachel Riley Smile

Annianni · 17/01/2014 10:22

Blond pm!

libertychick · 17/01/2014 10:22

Novice a Jo Malone gift set basket sounds amazing. I'm working from home too today - DH and DD have gone out It's bliss.

Annianni · 17/01/2014 10:27

The only person dh has admitted to liking, was Lisa Bonet (back when he was a teenager)

He'll say he likes actresses etc who I think are pretty, like Eva Mendes, Mila Kunis etc.

OneLittleLady · 17/01/2014 10:29

Dp has admitted to liking the woman from Mad Men, is it Christina Hendricks, the redhead?

AmberNectarine · 17/01/2014 10:35

I hate that Rachel Riley - smug cow.

Thankfully my DH likes not-too-tall, curvy brunettes exclusively. At least I know who to watch out for Wink

Annianni · 17/01/2014 10:38

Amber :o

Decameron · 17/01/2014 10:56

Gorgeous ring, Blair.

Lovely stuff, Blond. I really like your J Brands.

I have just ranted to DH about Matches. He keeps saying strike them off your list and thinks he is very funny. Huh.

MarshaBrady · 17/01/2014 11:00

Blair it would be great to meet you.

Decam humph!

Linus yep I think the DM does it on purpose, they've found what gets the biggest reaction.

libertychick · 17/01/2014 11:10

Sorry Decam that made me laugh Grin. It is rubbish service though.

I am waiting for DHL to collect some Matches boxes. I decided the Raoul skirt in the 12 was just a bit too tight on the waist so ordered the 14 to try which is much too big so I am sending both back Sad as I love it but absolutely no point keeping something I won't wear or need to lose weight to be comfortable in.

OP posts:
Decameron · 17/01/2014 11:15

It is funny. He won't laugh when he sees the £260 charge on the credit card which should have been refunded by now though!

blondambition · 17/01/2014 11:38

Thanks for the PM Anni. They are a bargain indeed. Not sure I will get into a 24 though, is the sizing generous?

I haven't ordered the J Brand photo readies yet, did I imagine it or did someone on here Umlauf? say the fabric is very thin?

Decam that is v annoying re Matches, funny DH though Grin. Surely as they collected they must acknowledge the problem is theirs and should refund you immediately?

Shop hope the yours and DHL's planets align and you get your dress today, I get v frustrated waiting esp if it's over a weekend. Is there anywhere safe they could leave the parcel if you left a signed note. I do it often where I live, not sure if they're supposed to or not but I have nice chats with my friendly DHL man so he's on my side Wink.

Right, off to make an omelette for lunch inspired by Dry. No smoked salmon though Sad.

shopafrolic · 17/01/2014 12:48

Am home and DHL haven't been yet! Phew!
My DH is one big cliche tis true QueenC - he suddenly wants to watch the Voice this year wonder why?
So I think I'm going to have to stop taking DS swimming. He loves the swimming, has so much fun. so happy in the water but when class ends he turns into a horrific uncontrollable rage monster and I have no idea how to deal with it. Snacks used to work but they've banned food int he changing room. While all the other kids are quietly allowing their mum's to help them get changed, DS is stood screaming and crying, won't let me near him, won't let me dry him. I burst into tears today in front of the last mum to leave. I'm so embarrassed. It happens every week and I feel as though all the mum's are looking at me as though I'm shit. Sorry - not fashion. Just :( I've cried all the way home.
