Do you...

  • love fashion (high and low end), style, beauty?
  • spend way more time than is healthy for anyone thinking about the contents of your wardrobe?
  • wish you had the nerve to apply for Mastermind with your specialist subject being the history of H&M collaborations?

If so come and chat! Hugs and kisses allowed

I don't think it's the size (and am sure you're not fat!) but the shape on the derrière that matters!!

What's the name of the rapper with a shaved head and really big bum? Amber someone.. She rocks pale denim!

Annianni · 16/01/2014 13:11

Amber who went out with Kanye... And now has a baby with Wiz (sp?)... She has a fab figure... Mine's not so clever at the moment.

I've ordered the Frame boyfriends anyway, and a pair of Frame distressed skinnys... So we shall see... Be worth a laugh anyway

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 16/01/2014 13:20

Held out against the Gap patchwork skinnies as I was undecided, showed them to DH who likes them Shock, so I've ordered them to give them a go but will have no hesitation in returning if they don't look right, although I thought they'd look well with my R&B navy Newburys.

Dry have you seen this? I ordered it in black and was surprised at the quality (talking structured dresses). It's a thick, almost neoprene, fabric and sits really nicely. So long as you're channeling Wendy, this wouldn't be bad.

IM jacket arrived yesterday and I thought it was a bit tight. Then I remembered I was wearing my Cambridge turtleneck (ie the thickness of at least two sweaters) and tried it on without a full sheep's worth of jumper on underneath - perfect. Now just waiting on the boots...

AmberNectarine · 16/01/2014 13:31

I think you'll like the Boyfriends Anni - they're quite fitted but they were really flattering. And I don't often say that about jeans!

Decameron · 16/01/2014 13:37

Lovely dress, Grumpy.

I bet those jeans will look great on you, Anni. I met someone this morning (at Monkey Music, I lead an exciting life) who really reminded me of you, same gorgeous long hair with a fringe.

Glad you got the bag, Liberty, I think you will be pleased with it. I was going to order the dress from dvf.com but have heard they are a pita for returns. They reduced at Matches so decided to buy before getting my refund. Now no shopping until my birthday (which is only a month away)!

Decameron · 16/01/2014 13:37

Very pretty dress, Umlauf.

shopafrolic · 16/01/2014 13:46

No dress today which means it will arrive tomorrow while DH is home. :(

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/01/2014 13:51

Lunchtime!

Grumpy I love neoprene. So comfy but still looks smart imho.

Lovely dress Decam.

liberty so pleased for you re the bag, saw it on your pin and it's really nice, I like the quilting.

shop if you try the dress on for your DH asap I'm sure he will be appeased Wink

Nothing to report here, your days all sound much more fun than mine stuck in the office, and I wish the sales would just end so that I can browse all the lovely s/s items!

MarshaBrady · 16/01/2014 14:00

Love that dress Grumpy.

Shop give your dh a fashion show, sure he will love it.

Anni they sound good.

Had an impromptu lunch with dh. Then realised it's our anniversary so ordered the champers. So perhaps we don't need an excuse every day is an anniversary. Grin

Stokey · 16/01/2014 14:04

Hello ladies

May I join you all? Have been finding myself on the S&B pages a lot recently since starting a new job in October that is a)less busy and b) off Regent's St so far too much opportunity for shopping.

Decameron love the dress.
I bought two DvF dresses from Matches in the sale - red Bentley one and this wrap one www.matchesfashion.com/product/158072. I ended up sending both back as the size wasn't right on the wrap and decided Bentley one was a bit too cocktail & sadly don't go to enough cocktail parties.

Then went to DvF in my lunch break last week to check sizing and ended up with one a bit like this ,also in the sale uk.dvf.com/new-julian-two-silk-jersey-wrap-dress/D5131001T13B.html?dwvar_D5131001T13B_size=2&dwvar_D5131001T13B_color=SCBPM#pmin=150&pmax=250&cgid=wrap-shop-fashion - same pattern but with a shirt collar. Still big signs everywhere saying no returns on sales items so think you were right to go with Matches.

Very dangerous working round here.

Decameron · 16/01/2014 14:10

Hi Stokey, lovely dress. I had my eye on the Bentley dress too but didn't get it for the same reason. I would be bankrupt if I worked off Regent's St!

Shop, you have reminded me that DH has taken the day off tomorrow so hope my dress doesn't arrive too quickly.

Decameron · 16/01/2014 14:11

And happy anniversary, Marsha and MrMarsha.

Stokey · 16/01/2014 14:13

Forgot to say, love the Jaeger dress too umlauf

Always thought they were a bit conservative but now looks like it is yet another shop I have to pop into in my lunch break - (feels purse lightening)

foxysocks · 16/01/2014 14:14

hola lovelies. how is everyone? welcome lurkers and newbies!

almost two weeks in now and slowly settling in. india-style means nothing is ever easy, and seemingly simple tasks can take weeks to complete. there is nothing to do but surrender. you can try and take on mother India but you will never win, it's easier to let her do her thing and let yourself drift through the ride Grin

I am currently getting the most use out of the CE cargoes i got on sale from asos last summer, along with j crew vintage cotton tees and wang muscle vests - all so light, airy and wearable. also those asos patch boyfriend jeans - i think amber got the same ones? - were worth every penny of the £10 i paid for them.

have had nothing but havianas on my feet in daytime, although both vejas and converse have been worn for cold early morning walks to practice. so glad I brought the silk/cashmere cobalt oversized scarf and the cecile etre sweater with me for the same reason. cosy!

all this hot weather is giving me a headstart on what the wardrobe gaps might be for SS14, I think my list currently stands at:

shorts - I have one pair of gap denim boyf shorts but need another pair. anyone got any ideas where to look?
a pale or white lace detail top or tee
chambray shirt - probs from j crew, gutted i didn't buy one in the sales last year but had run out of money!
white jeans - these have been on my list for two years and I have still failed to find the right pair. not holding out much hope but you never know...

shopping has been minimal since i arrived. I did buy some gorgeous new cotton sheets to keep out here to make my trips more comfortable. they are seersucker striped, white and blue. and in the same shop I found a gorgeous turquoise and gold stone necklace for £4, you'd pay nigh on £100 for the same one in anthropologie. i will try to find a similar pic online to pin!

I have also realised one bikini is in no way enough so ordered one for my friend to bring out this one

Umlauf · 16/01/2014 14:28

Thanks stokey and welcome. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of jaegers main line (except for coats) but I love jaeger boutique, however I'm sure I read somewhere that aw13 was the last collection. Hoping not Sad

fixy sounds idyllic! How long are you there for? I always cut my own shorts from old jeans, but have seen nice ones in boden of all places!

Off out for a walk along the beach with the baby then tapas with DH, wearing the new patch skinnies with a shirt buttoned up to the collar under a j crew tippi and brogues. grumpy I love the patch jeans but go tight! they've stretched already and I've only had them on 2 hours!

Sleepwhenidie · 16/01/2014 14:59

Welcome Stokey Smile

Foxy how lovely to hear from you! Sounds like you are having a fabulous time. Very Envy of you being in shorts wearing weather! I tried Kundalini yoga class earlier...it was a struggle..I'm not very good at stilling the noise in my head it seems Grin - I need something to stretch me out and unknot/chill a bit though - what shall I try next Confused

liberty - v impressed you are still off the caffeine Smile!

shopafrolic · 16/01/2014 15:35

Welcome Stokey
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs MB
Waves to Foxy glad trip is going well. Wish I was in the sunshine and warmth instead of all this rain.
Sent Ganni sweater back to AR today with a note telling them their photography is rubbish :)
Anni glad you got some jeans to try - will keep my eye out for the others.
Am in agony after physio today and Pilates last night. I'm supposed to be going to the cinema but may have to pass.....

Decameron · 16/01/2014 15:47

AR are also very slow to process returns.

Glad your trip is going well, Foxy. I like Whistles shorts the best.

santamarianovella · 16/01/2014 16:00

anni I so wanted to help ,but my phone died while i was out. I have both Aidan and garçon boyfriends,I wouldn't call the frame ones boyfriends,as they are more fitted, but still flattering with slight slouch,
the Aidan are completely different style and fit,and I can only wear them with high heels,as they are very baggy. And I look ridiculous wearing them with flats. I'm sure you will look good in the frame ones.

foxy great to here from you,you are lucky to escape all this rain! Do keep posting, would love to hear more.

stokey welcome, lovely dress, you and decam are tempting me to get one too.

Decameron · 16/01/2014 16:04

Go for it, Santa!

Stokey · 16/01/2014 16:15

Yes do it - very functional, easy to wear in day, night, spring, autumn, winter... Have I sold it?

santamarianovella · 16/01/2014 16:15

done

santamarianovella · 16/01/2014 16:17

I like the collarless one better, and since Gloria from modern family and I are so alike Wink decided to get the new Julian.

Stokey · 16/01/2014 16:20

Good choice - I liked collarless one too but weirdly when I tried it on in the shop, it was a bit baggy round the front. The collared one sat better over my boobs, quite odd. Tried the non-collar in three different sizes, but all had the same problem.

santamarianovella · 16/01/2014 16:23

Posted to soon! Meant to say, Gloria always wears the new Julian dresses, and they look great
