only jeans with destroy patches (their description, not mine!)

they are a bit tight but will stretch with wear. not sure yet whether to keep them, are they naff?, trendy?, am i too old? (43).

Er, they are totally not my style.

But if they're your style and you've got the body, why not??

MissMilbanke · 13/01/2014 14:16

I wouldn't wear those either

DaftSkunk · 13/01/2014 14:19

I don't like them sorry op.

Grin at destroy patches.

buttercrumble · 13/01/2014 14:21

Nay

frankietwospots · 13/01/2014 14:23

I've had my eye on those for ages! Saw them on the School Gate Style blog. What size did you get out of interest? I ended up ordering these from Gap with 20% off which have just arrived...www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=57387&vid=1&pid=000928936000

Will report back when I've tried them!

I don't think age is relevant, it's how you style them and whether they suit you.

With link!

sublimecorpse · 13/01/2014 14:24

Even my teenager wouldn't wear those! Sorry, they're not nice.

brunette123 · 13/01/2014 14:24

Nay - sorry

frankietwospots · 13/01/2014 14:25

And here's the blog post: www.schoolgatestyle.com/2013/10/mad-jeans.html

I tried some similar ones from H&M but they were tiny and too short.

nilbyname · 13/01/2014 14:25

Very wit, do you read that blog?

I like them and I'm 37, would wear them with a chunky knit, and little boots.

TheXxed · 13/01/2014 14:25

At 43 yes.

Magicstars · 13/01/2014 14:26

Sorry, it's a nay from me.

Stinklebell · 13/01/2014 14:29

No

Not from an am I too old perspective though they're just not my style

impty · 13/01/2014 14:41

Well I quite like them, and patched denim is having a bit of a thing at the moment. For £25 I'd keep.

DrNick · 13/01/2014 14:43

LOVE
i want the gap ones

thenicknameiwantedisgone · 13/01/2014 14:45

Sorry, I don't like them and even if I did I'm sorry but I think you're too old for them. (I am similar age)

Sunflower49 · 13/01/2014 14:46

They're not my style but on somebody else I'd probably think they're nice!Do you feel confident in them?Age isn't really relevant in your early forties , I've seen women in their late forties look fabulous in skinny jeans, you don't have to start wearing chinos and baggy t shirts just 'cause you're not 20 anymore!

MorrisZapp · 13/01/2014 14:48

I love them, wish I had the legs to wear jeans like that.

I'd say if you're otherwise stylish, age is no barrier.

burnishedsilver · 13/01/2014 14:56

Nay.

If I had a pair of jeans that were in such bad condition that they needed to be patched to that extentd I'd bin them.

Mrsap · 13/01/2014 15:02

I have them and Love them. They were a bargain at £25 and I wear them a lot. Generally with converse & flat pumps. Also with heels for a night in the pub. Am 38 and do have the legs for them WinkGrin. Go for it.

DrNick · 13/01/2014 15:06

i need a 30 inch waist

it is NOT to be

nipersvest · 13/01/2014 15:08

yep, i have been sniggering at the term destroy patches, sounds like something a toddler would have on their dungarees!

i ordered them after seeing them on school gate style, thought they looked nice and a bit, well, different Grin

am supposed to be a funky textile designer so maybe i can carry them off.

i am a size 12 and just about squeeze into the 28 waist (i know avril from the blog got 29's). it's tight, but if i don't eat, it's doable Wink

ordered them last week with the 10% off offer so were only £23.50.

OP posts:
DrNick · 13/01/2014 15:09

oh i would want them to be restaruant friendly you see

too tight a waistband and i get tummy cramps

nipersvest · 13/01/2014 15:11

drnick, my waist actually measures 30 more than 28!! but by some miracle, i fitted into 27's in levi's so thought i'd give the 28's a go. the denim is quite stretchy and they sort of cinch everything in.

the legs are skinny though, they're more like jeggings than skinny jeans.
