only jeans with destroy patches (their description, not mine!)

they are a bit tight but will stretch with wear. not sure yet whether to keep them, are they naff?, trendy?, am i too old? (43).

Don't like them - think they look naff. Even the Gap ones and I'm a Gap fan generally,
Don't think it's an age thing - though I suppose, if I were wondering why someone would get them, trying to be down with the kids might be one explanation that might occur.

But if you love them and feel good in them go for it.

frankietwospots · 13/01/2014 15:31

Just a quick report back on the Gap patch jeans. They are going back. Fit fine on the waist but why so short? Even when rolled up, they look a bit meh. Put it this way, they didn't look as cool as this: web.stagram.com/p/628237822653805851_53344012

and I'd ordered some leopard heels too

Olivegirl · 13/01/2014 15:34

Have just shown them to dd(18) she said jeans shape look fine ..patches? No.

DrNick · 13/01/2014 15:36

regular length in those is 29

that is short

Locketjuice · 13/01/2014 15:37

Sorry I don't like but if you have the figure/toned bum I think they could work, with wedges and a blazer

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/01/2014 19:26

I don't like them, sorry.

nipersvest · 14/01/2014 11:35

remus, no need to apologise! opinions both good and bad are allowed Grin

am still undecided, need to try them on again really and then see if i can sit down in them and still breath. main issue is the size as they only had 28's in stock, could have done with a 29 or even a 30 really.

I quite like them. Am pondering ordering them myself. They do look more like jeggings than skinny jeans though.

bishboschone · 14/01/2014 12:17

I have some jeans like these, I love them .... Keep

Avenue57 · 14/01/2014 13:18

Personally I don't like them but I know they are a favourite amongst some fashion bloggers

MillyRules · 14/01/2014 13:23

Sorry very cheap looking with the patches. To hillbilly for me.Smile

nipersvest · 14/01/2014 13:24

milly, they are cheap Wink paid £23, wouldn't have got them at all if they were full price tbh.

I'm 41 and wear these!
Did feel a little out of my comfort zone wearing them for the first time, but now are my go to pair.

Financeprincess · 14/01/2014 17:21

Nay, nay and thrice nay.

HelloBoys · 14/01/2014 17:26

Do you live in trendy Ladbroke Grove/Portobello Rd area or aspire to?

also what the feck is School Gate style?! I am not a mother but my own mother bless her rocked up in 70's/80s in jumpsuits (coloured), jeans and vest tops was thin as a whip with LONG brown hair and was told by some of my friends years later they thought she was their mums' ages - 20's whereas she was 30 upwards.... she pretends she didn't give a flying fig about fashion but I think it filtered down...

rainbowfeet · 14/01/2014 17:32

I don't think age is an issue.. I'd wear them if I wasn't fat & I'm 39!
They are a slim persons jean though!!

Just heard on the radio that ASOS profits are up Grin & they consider themselves to cater for people in their 20's Confused

FrugalFashionista · 15/01/2014 18:25

I'm usually not a fan of skinnies (far too many people who should not never touch them have adopted them) but I love the patchwork denim trend - I think I've seen them paired with a loose silk blouses and a felt hats. A warning, Only jeans tend to be cut extremely slim cut!

whereisshe · 15/01/2014 18:29

Sorry but I really don't like them. I think they'd be hard to style without looking like you think you're still a teenager...

Twinklestein · 15/01/2014 18:35

I probably wouldn't wear them but I think they're great fun & I'd appreciate them on someone else. Patches remind me of the 70s which is always good.

They'd look great with a black biker and heels.

Twinklestein · 15/01/2014 18:36

I meant jacket not person Shock - although both could work Wink

kilmuir · 15/01/2014 18:40

Quite like them, assuming you are slim and not a fatty

MillyRules · 16/01/2014 21:50

Shock !!!!!

cocodevert · 23/01/2014 15:56

I love these but was also worried about looking a bit try hard. Thank you to Frankie's review, as I think I'll take them out of my Gap basket. I dont think they'll be right for me personally as i've only just started wearing jeans at all. They look cool in the Red link above, though. I say wear & be proud!
