Seeking inspiration and trying to escape the jeans+jumper uniform. Links to flat navy leather ankle boots and bags especially welcome.

Hi LonelyGoatherd :)

I'm being a SAHM today, because it's my day off, so I'll join in:

Mid wash boyfriends - Paige
Bright pink cashmere crew neck - Boden
Anthracite glitter high tops - Jimmy Choo

Hmm, not really helping with the jeans and jumper thing am I?

I'll have a look for boots!

Weelady77 · 10/01/2014 08:18

I'll join in even though I'm going into work for an hour!

Skinny jeans from next (hate them but they do for work)
Peach river island vest top
Beige boyfriend cardigan from river island
And pair off uggs

I've not got the most glamourised jobWink

frankietwospots · 10/01/2014 08:20

It's my day off too! Today I'm wearing dark skinnies from Gap, Boden green and grey striped jumper (old) and Cath Kidston navy polka dot high tops. Will add a scarf later as it's flipping freezing!

cupcake78 · 10/01/2014 08:21

I'm dressed but haven't had any time to consider what in. I just know my underwear is covered GrinGrinGrinGrin

Welcome to my world at the moment.

Pagwatch · 10/01/2014 08:23

Blue tweed Whistles skirt
Blue whistles t-shirt
Nicole Fahri blue oversize jumper
Black Kurt Geiger boots.

Dumpylump · 10/01/2014 08:24

Black skinny jeans from Top Shop
Cream and black striped oversized long sleeved t shirt from River Island
Bunny slippers at the minute, but uggs and my blue bargainous in the sale from Top Shop coat for taking ds2 to school v soon

Again....not v inspirational re the jeans and jumper situation!

papalazaru · 10/01/2014 08:28

I was going to contribute but the designer SAHMs have made me feel inadequate and I'm going to cry in my wardrobe...... Sad

LinusDKD · 10/01/2014 08:28

Blue Leigh Topshop skinnies
White longsleeved J Crew tee
Pink cashmere cardigan
Becksondergaard scarf
J Choo bikers

SAHM cliché but I decided to not wear my Gimp costume today as it's a bit chilly here Grin

Pagwatch · 10/01/2014 08:45

I'm a designer sahm because I am fucking ancient and if stuff isn't cut well, knees length and lined I look like a string bag full of sausages.

Dd has just started buying in shops like top shop and h&m and I could cry with envy

AmberNectarine · 10/01/2014 08:48

String bag full of sausages. That is exactly it!

DesperateHousewife21 · 10/01/2014 08:51

My usual daywear is jumper and jeans too so Ive gone with something different to feel a bit more 'done'!

White strap top- oasis
Striped jumper dress- great plains
Grey cotton tights- tesco (surprisingly good quality and fit and only £4!)
brown leather knee boots- barratts

Barbour coat and furry Next snood for when I go out.
Big brown leather bag from Zara.

OneMoreThenNoMore · 10/01/2014 08:54

I'm still in my pyjamas Grin

I'll probably go for a skirt/tights/top combo, with my knee length zip up dm boots. Possibly a cord mini (white stuff, not popular on mn but I like some of their clothes) and a slouchy h&m jumper.

I find jeans really uncomfortable at the moment; I need to go shopping for some new ones. My jeans all seem to be either too low rise, so I spend all day hoiking them up (even with a belt on), or not quite skinny enough, which I hate. Sad

Fairylea · 10/01/2014 08:56

Straight leg jeans from sainsburys - my favourite ever jeans and a bargain at 14.99!

Pink jumper from mistral

Tan calf boots from fat face

I'm very casual and can't be without jeans I'm afraid!

Pascha · 10/01/2014 08:56

I'm still in pyjamas too. I will, however, be wearing Uniqlo dark grey skinny cords with a random jersey top I expect. Not much inspiration here.

PaulMcGannsMistress · 10/01/2014 08:57

Bootcut jeans and a black tunic top. I shall be putting my bright red 'GEEK' sweater on in a minute because it's a bit parky. I've just got some new £9 boots from Tesco, but they're not flat and they're not blue.

So I'm a fat lot of use to you Grin

Lonelygoatherd · 10/01/2014 09:18

Thanks all.
Call off the navy boots search - glittery hi-tops are what I need (or navy leather converse?). I also need scarves, but not massive ones, that won't clash with a cherry red coat.

As for me, am in grey ankle boots, skinny flares, stripy T breton and elbow-length, hot pink cashmere jumper.

CaptainCunt · 10/01/2014 09:21

Primark skinny jeans, primark t shirt, topshop wool cardie. That's what I'm intending to wear, I'm naked at the moment :/

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/01/2014 09:23

Right now? My big fluffy purple dressing gown and blue thermal socks

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/01/2014 09:27

I am still in my pjs too Grin

But later I shall be putting on

Dark blue Gok skinnies/jeggings from Sainsbury's (surprisingly good!)
Boden grey and navy Breton stripe jumper
River Island tan flat ankle boots
Becksondergard scarf

planestrainsautomobiles · 10/01/2014 09:28

Skinny indigo jeans
White stuff long sleeved white top
Mustard / Gold v neck jumper
Brown hudson ankle boots

Chocolategirl7 · 10/01/2014 09:31

My day off so will join in too if that's ok?

Wearing a new black cord pinny dress from Primark with grey long sleeve Tshirt, black woolly tights, biker boots, red scarf and cardi.
When I oh out later I will throw on a cream woolly poncho from Matalan.

I've been really making an effort not to wear jeans / jeggings all the time!

Sukebind · 10/01/2014 09:34

I am feeling the Christmas chocolates/cake/other food I ate in huge quantities and am avoiding my skinny jeans. I am also a little embarrassed because I do not have any of the nice brand clothes mentioned above. Well, I have a couple and they are for 'best'! So I am wearing a very loose grey/brown woolish sort of A-line dress from Purple/Dorothy Perkins, black DP leggings and brown DP ugg-style boots which I don't like that much any more but are warm and will do for long walk to school and back. That's not much help to OP who wanted fashion inspiration!

teta · 10/01/2014 09:36

Adidas trackie capri's,cobalt t shirt over long cream vest and Uggs. All ready for the gym class in an hour.
I have lovely Navy boots from Duo - but unfortunately from 3 years ago. Also have a Paul Costello's navy bag from Tk Maxx recently.Maybe worth a look.

ThePearShapedToad · 10/01/2014 09:38

Can I ask a question about jeans? I hate wearing them as I find them uncomfortable (and I've tried designer ones, cheap ones, bootleg, skinny etc). Just fed up of them but everyone else in the world seems to love them. What am I doing wrong??

And secondly, whenever I buy jeans, I find that at the end of the day after yanking them up, or scratching the knee etx, my hands and fingers are stained blue! Blush
It happened with my horribly expensive ones and the ones from gap. Does anyone else have this problem or do I just have a gene that makes jeans (see what I did there?! Grin) ooze colour??

dexter73 · 10/01/2014 09:40

Not really a SAHM but am wearing cream sweatshirt with blue stars on, blue heattech top, grey vest and dark skinny jeans that aren't really skinny. No shoes/boots yet.
