A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

I've checked the measurements on the dress and I won't fit the size down unfortunately. I'm definitely a UK12 nowadays and it says the dress is true to size and cut for a slim fit. No problem. I can feel that end of sale desperation thing happening e.g. I must buy it, it's a bargain! No rush at all. No dinners planned in the near future. I'd be better off buying sweat pants TBH!! Grin

Morning! Thanks to everyone who pitched in with their opinion last night. I had the conversation with dh and I knew he would also be thinking it was poncey, but I was much more confident that this is what we need because of what you had all said. I didn't say it but was thinking, all the stress is on me, and you're not going to do anything, so zip it buddy!Grin Anyway, have already contacted people, and it feels like a huge weight of my mind alreadyThanks

Dry, love the hat, I think it's stunning. If it meets the measurement requirements then don't think it matters that it's in a headband. Does it just meet or exceed the measurements?

So, first bag decision made. I am wearing Austin Reed grey suit (petite so perfect fit!) with my lovely new pink Ted Baker embellished sweater. It's such a sleek knit that it still looks v formal. I tried the outfit with my Chloe Marcie, Rag & Bone pilot and the Proenza schouler as they are all the same coral colour. Anyway, Marcie didn't go because of the gold/brass bits being a bit much for a delicate outfit. Rag&Bone too small for all my crap and the PS13 was perfect. So there we go! With my Russell & Bromley shoe boots, it feels lovely.

I decided to ditch my diamond studs as I am bored of them and am wearing 2ct amethyst studs in a gold base, swaroski purple stacking rings, my Hermes watch with the pink straps and my coloured gem stone gold bracelet, I am all matchyGrin

Piccies novice! Your outfit sounds great!

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 11:28

Sounds fab Novice

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 11:34

Fast! Exciting. Hope they're good.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 11:35

Perfect Novice!

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 11:46

Loading pics on Pin now - will need your help and honest opinions please. They're good Marsha but short.....

OP posts:
Annianni · 09/01/2014 12:05

I like them Shop.
Try sitting down a few times, do they ride up on your knee and get too short?

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 12:13

Darn mine won't be here until tomorrow. If they are too short for me, then I reckon they might be even more so for you as you're taller. Can I deliver final verdict tomorrow.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 12:47

Yes Marsha do. I need to try them again when I look better - hair done, make up on........ I do like them, I really do - but they won't replace the Goldsigns as the Goldsigns were long.
Anyone who finds me a pair of Goldsign Lures in a 29 at around £100 or less gets a glass of fizz on me at the next MU!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 12:54

Yep and yep!

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 12:58

Anyway it appears people are watching, or hiding as they wish grinding their teeth at this thread.

So links and lists please.

Spring list.

Light skinnies
Ballet flats
Would love to follow Santa and get a Marant jacket.
Pretty dress.

Annianni · 09/01/2014 13:14

So lovey dahlings...

I've ordered the Gap patched skinnys that The Frugality blogged about (saw them in store last week and they do look nice) there's 20% off everything today.

Also waiting for a Boden navy slouchy sweater.
Dh bought me a 2 tone grey version for Christmas.
Soz but no links, on phone. All on Pin though.

Spring lists...

Not much really (money needs spending on the house)
Still stalking a pair of jeans online
Oh, and a pair of ballet flats.

LinusDKD · 09/01/2014 13:15

I really like those jeans shop! They are maybe a bit short but I like that look with ballet flats.

And have you tried them with pointy heels à la French Vogue?

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 13:24

Don't forget to follow with a sneer Anni Wink.

Glad my list isn't too long.. Yet.

AmberNectarine · 09/01/2014 13:29

Don't think I need anything. Must be dying or something.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 13:32

Spring list
A pair of pointy flats (like the Madewell ones) LINK here
A fitted shirt to wear with jeans and said pointy flats - probably a casual version of the cream silk blouse I own ANOTHER LINK here but probably just one pocket......
A large bag to carry round DS and my stuff - no idea still what this looks like!
A black dress - see LINKS above.
I don't want to go onto that thread but am really sad to see that we are seen as sneery :( I love it when people delurk as you all know too well! Grin

OP posts:
BaileyWhite · 09/01/2014 13:32

Hi everyone.

Am compiling a spring list. Nothing like a bit of displacement activity. There is a window cleaner at my window and I am doing that peculiarly British thing of pretending he is not there (have already given him cup of tea- am not a total heartless nasty baggage) whilst I 'work'.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 13:33

Linus I did try the jeans with my Floretes and pinned a pic but they weren't as good Hmm

OP posts:
BaileyWhite · 09/01/2014 13:33

I've never seen anybody sneer at delurkers or at anything else on here.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 13:34

Hehe Shop at caps. Love those LINKS.

I don't think we are, we are lovely. But hey if people want to hide it, go for it.

MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 13:38

And yes we practically puppy dog de-lurkers. So sod the watchers and grimacers.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 13:43

What I really need to try those Frame skinnies on with is Santas lovely jacket!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 09/01/2014 13:45

I love that jacket. I saw a pretty one in Liberty the other day. Am very tempted. Bluish tweed, Marant.

shopafrolic · 09/01/2014 13:46

Sounds gorgeous.
Gah! look at the reduction on my parka!
