A safe place to talk fashion stuff. Bring a passion for fashion (high end or high street), a positive state of mind and lots of links.

Was there PM shut down on NYE? too sozzled to notice

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 22:15

Dry there was when some posters ( it was vile) abused JulieMumsnet when she told them off for goady bingo threads.

They banned loads of people and shut down posting for an hour. Loads of people waling that they thought their lives were over and what would they do on NYE.

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 22:15

I missed NYE banning action too. I was in bed by 10 Grin

It was stoopid. Grown women behaving like AOL teenagers in the 90's (I've just dated myself haven't I?)

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 22:20

I saw those bingo threads on NYE, loads of people being idiots. Didn't realise there'd been mass bannings though and I definitely didn't know that people had been dishing out abuse.

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 22:22

Sorry, but what's a bingo thread? Just a provocative one? What's wrong with people?Shock NYE? Wow!
I'm a simple woman...just want to talk clothes and shoes and fun stuff Smile

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 22:24

A Bingo thread is when they post ironic threads about the prejudiced comments on MN in general. But not everybody sees them as ironic.

Stuff like racism/Disablism.

Pathetic really.

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 22:24

Yes dry just goady, trolly threads that everyone was laughing about. There were dozens and dozens of them.

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 22:37

Happy, safe place here people. Can someone find me a replacement dress please? I'm still weeping...........

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 22:39

I am considering this but do you think its a bit last season? The look is going to lighten up and the grunge-luxe thing might date faster than a rat up a drainpipe.

I have ordered this sky blue shirt here to try. It looks practical yet gauzy enough to wear out at night too.

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 22:40

And sort out my hat dilemna.....what the heck is the difference between a "head piece" and a "fascinator"? I'm hoping it's not the hair band but the size of the bit on top Hmm I have 6 months and an stressing

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 22:42

I really like it Mig also really like the shirt

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 22:43

Can you wear purple Shop?

BrandyAlexander · 08/01/2014 22:44

Dry, just do it the day before!Wink Go with a hat, it felt so much more fun!

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 22:46

Novice I want to wear the one I pinned. Dress code says the crown needs to be minimum 4" which I've measured and it is. Just a bit paranoid because it's fixed to a hair band. Take a look and tell me what you think. I can take it to the milliner who made it and she'll know or tweet it. I love that hat.

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 22:47

Can one but warm toned. My colours are on Pin.
What I liked about the VW dress was it was quite classic! but a bit tough withy the raw edges etc. I need something with some edge. And not super short.......

I love Heimstone. The owner/designer, Alex Petit was featured in US Vogue several years ago (where I first found out about the brand) and it is very much a stealth business. Her first designs included a lambskin skirt that was ripped off by every designer going. I went to the store last year and got a tad carried away along with MerciParis (another place of pilgrimage). I want to go again. Are we going to do a Paris trip one day?

OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 22:50

I found THIS ONE and THIS ONE but I really don't know what colours would suit an autumn (if I'm right, I'm sure I remember you posting that's what you are) so I'm not sure if they are the right shades for you

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 22:57

But they're sold out One.
Guys I'm feeling really upset that they're slagging off our lovely, non judgemental, not combative, friendly fashion thread....I like it here.

BrandyAlexander · 08/01/2014 22:58

Dry, I can't find the pin!

shopafrolic · 08/01/2014 23:01

Just don't mention that thread again on here, and it remains lovely (well as lovely as it was before everyone got carried away about LJ) Grin
Thanks One but the ruching looks too attention drawing rather than diverting IYSWIM and they're sold out..........
I'm off to bed.

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 08/01/2014 23:02

argh, they weren't sold out when I found them. Sorry. Seems they are very popular

Drywhiteplease · 08/01/2014 23:03

Novice on our board! scroll down quite a way

MarshaBrady · 08/01/2014 23:05

Dry sod it. Not worth thinking about. I like it here.

I'd also like some light skinnies for spring.

Mignonette · 08/01/2014 23:06

Will go and have a look.
