What have you bought because of Mumsnet?

I'm just curious what purchases you can attribute to Mumsnet and are you pleased with them?

I bought the Hush ruched skirt which I love and I've just invested in the Babyliss Big Hair and am pleased with the results so far. I wouldn't normally look at anything called big hair as I like my hair skinny but it's sleek with shape in the right places Grin

Batiste Dry Shampoo - something I'd always known about (memories of English teacher with obvious powder in the 1970s - ugh) but someone was raving on here about it, so I gave it a go. And it's great.

bettykt · 31/12/2013 15:55

I only started lurking/posting since the beginning of this month and have bought Ash Jalouse boots, 2 Becksondergaard scarves, some shoes to wear on a night out as well as a clutch, BBH, MUA make up, some oil for oil pulling. I sound like a sheep don't i? Was/am in a complete style rut and need a serious overhaul of clothes/make-up/grooming everything. This is the start of my looking better journey Grin

Brillenbar · 31/12/2013 16:00

Ditto becksondergaard scarves and ash boots, also me and em ruched jersey skirt. Have discovered me and em, j crew and massimo dutti. Also had colours done, which was less successful

Great items there Dry Envy I've also bought some Superdrug Vitamin E stuff.

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/12/2013 16:10

BBH - rubbish

Bodyshop hemp hand cream - vile smell

Becksongard scarf - never wore, gave straight to sister

Golly, I'm a bundle of festive cheer aren't I? Wink

Am sure I have bought some good stuff though that I've seen on here - I just can't remember.

Roshbegosh · 31/12/2013 16:11

So many discoveries due to MN.
Woolovers, kettlewell, babyliss big hair, water pic, mint velvet, rock salt ... for starters. Then there are reminders such as when there is a sale at Clarks or when there are good autumn colours at espirit. I have asked for advice on where to get skirts for example and ended up doing a big order at white stuff. All the time I am getting great suggestions from MN.
I spend way more on clothes than I used to but I am much happier with how I look.
I want to get the secret curl but it's £190 so I will wait for it to get below £100, or go without.
I had a few turkeys though, like an emmi dent toothbrush that was rubbish.

higgle · 31/12/2013 16:12

Babyliss big hair - wonderful on my chin length bob ( though I still put a Velcro roller in the fringe while I'm doing the rest) Ash wedge trainers ( Bea Bis) Dune biker boots. I work full time and am not that fashion savvy so I doubt I'd know about Uniqlo, Cos, mineral make up, Chanel volume mascara and many other things that are now very important to me without S&B.

cloudskitchen · 31/12/2013 16:19

I'm going to have to check out a few things on your lists now, especially the scarves. I love scarves Grin

I also bought coconut oil but didn't really think that through. My eyes water really easily and if I get that in them they're off for hours!

Need to add becksongaard scarf now, thanks.

IamInvisible · 31/12/2013 16:35

BBH - Rubbish

Babyliss curling wand- equally rubbish

Gap maxi dress - love it.

Hush ruched skirt - going to buy another

Clarks Hamble Oak brogues - love

enormouse · 31/12/2013 16:41

Superdrug vit E hot cloth cleanser and aveeno moisturiser transformed my dull eczema prone skin. I haven't had a flare up on my face for almost 3 months. The aveeno shower wash is fantastic too.

Also after starting a thread about make up for darker skin, I bought no 7 foundation and concealer in deeply honey. It is as good (if not better) than mac and bobbi brown.

Oh and MUA eyeshadow palette and their primer.

Bodyshop hemp hand cream. It's pretty good but I agree, the smell is awful.

Curioustiger · 31/12/2013 16:41

BBH - amazing
Signed up to 'does my bum look 40 in this?' blog
Dark foundation to do contouring as of this morning!
Maybe not many specific items per se but I have definitely been influenced by the general ideas and styling tips (I love style & beauty)

I really want the ruched skirt but am waiting for some kind mumsnetter to post a link to the shop where I can buy some long model-looking legs to go with it Grin

IamInvisible · 31/12/2013 16:44

I haven't got long model legs, Curious. I'm 5'4" with "too skinny legs" according to my GP yesterday. I wear it with thick tights.

Buy it, it it so comfy.

wheretoyougonow · 31/12/2013 16:55

A steam mop
Foundation
Mustard ketchup

All brilliant - thank you.

Volume121 · 31/12/2013 17:00

Nothing but I have heard of loads of brands I had never heard of before, such as

Me and Em
Celtic Sheepskin
Hush
Woolovers
And other stories
Ash Boots

cloudskitchen · 31/12/2013 17:02

I'm only 5'2" and I definitely don't have model like legs but I wear it with opaques. it's so comfy. good alternative to jeans with casual layers
