I have Argos vouchers so really hoped it would be reduced there but they aren't. Are they reduced anywhere?

< lurk >

Asda have them reduced on their website but sold out! Might be worth a look instore?

rusmum · 26/12/2013 18:52

I was lucky enough to win one on local forum for £7 yay Wink

GlindaForGood · 26/12/2013 19:07

I'll try my local Asda tomorrow, need to drive past anyway. Thanks for the tip off.

Anyone seen them reduced anywhere else? I really want one!

Asda only had the 42mm one for shorter hair.

Boots have a fiver off online, £39.99. May have just ordered one...

nipersvest · 26/12/2013 23:27

i was just about to post asking this same question. mine died this afternoon, was using it, and there was a loud pop and a blue spark from the handle. i switched it off and daren't try it again, suspect the heating element has gone Sad

GlindaForGood · 27/12/2013 08:06

Think I'll just have to get it from argos because I have the vouchers. Not worth paying in another shop if best deal is a fiver off, better to use up the vouchers. Just need to find an argos with them in stock.

I'm going to but one today. Reserved at Argos - full price £44.99 Hmm but I really want it for tomorrow night.

Hadmeathello · 27/12/2013 08:37

Wilkinsons normally reduce them to £10 after Christmas. I got one last year.

bigbuttons · 27/12/2013 09:05

I've literally just ordered one from asda for £28. They had them in stock. Wilkos didn't even have them on the website!

SirChenjin · 27/12/2013 09:09

That one for £28 is the smaller barrel Bigbuttons - just checking you knew that? Smile

AlaskaNebraska · 27/12/2013 09:10

They're so average

SirChenjin · 27/12/2013 09:12

Oh no - definitely not average. I've had 2 now - both stopped working sadly - but they are the only things that have managed to tame my thick, wavy, coarse hair and make it shiney and swishy. Fab things.

Bakingnovice · 27/12/2013 09:15

Can you use the small one on long hair if hair is very fine?

Hadmeathello · 27/12/2013 09:19

Big buttons, wilkinsons have them in store. Not sure of price this year.

bigbuttons · 27/12/2013 09:22

sirchenjin thank you, yes I know. I have the bigger one, have had it for years, love it, but I have a short ish bob!! I have managed ok with the bigger barrel but really wanted to see what it was like to have one that actually suited my hair length!

SirChenjin · 27/12/2013 09:27

I'm wondering whether to go for that smaller one too now - my hair is thick collar length, and sometimes the big one does make my hair big (which I guess is the point Grin)

bigbuttons · 27/12/2013 10:19

I find it hard to do the back with the big one and I think the smaller one would give me more control iyswim?

princessalbert · 27/12/2013 10:25

www.wilko.com/electrical-hair-styling/tresemme-volume-styler-blackpink-700w-2776u/invt/0337223

Does the Tresemme version do the same thing??

princessalbert · 27/12/2013 10:26

Gah

tresemme

SirChenjin · 27/12/2013 10:47

Just ordered the smaller one from Asda - thanks for the link bigbuttons Smile

Does the Tresemme one spin?

bigbuttons · 27/12/2013 16:58

Oh good, hope it works for youSmile

jennimoo · 27/12/2013 17:01

Slightly OT but how do you use the BBH? Do you have to dry your hair mostly first or does it work from towel dried?

SirChenjin · 27/12/2013 18:22

Yes - you have to dry your hair first until it's damp, and then use the BBH on sections of hair. If I'm in a rush I use it on dry hair too - it takes the worst of the kinks out.

GlindaForGood · 27/12/2013 19:03

Ended up getting the 50mm one from Argos, it only cost me a fiver on top of my vouchers so not bad really. I nearly went for the 42mm one for £28 in Asda, my store had one left on the shelf this afternoon, but glad I didn't because the big one is great. My hair is about 2 inches below my shoulders, I think the 42mm would have been too small.

I've used it on my 4yr daughter and I, we both look fabulous now Xmas Grin

Argh - Asda have just sent me a refund, they're out of stock apparently Sad
