Anyone want to share their Christmas Day outfits?

I am hosting this year and would like to make an effort but also be practical for crawling around the floor playing with a toddler and cooking in.

Anyone want to share theirs to give me inspiration?

I'm going to wear a lace skirt with a silvery jumper.

iMe · 17/12/2013 15:08

I want to wear my newest dress, by Sophie B, but as i'm also cooking, I don't want it ruined by spilling fat or something on it.

AMuppetChristmasCorral · 17/12/2013 15:11

I'll be wearing this jumper and jeans. We're at PIL's this year and they don't do dressing up for Christmas.

If we were at home I'd be in a nice skirt and top for church, and a massive pinnie while I cooked! Xmas Grin

OLittleTownOfBarflehem · 17/12/2013 15:13

this with opaque tights and low heel boots.

MelanieCheeks · 17/12/2013 16:02

Christmas jumper with leather skinnies. And a pair of antlers.

burnishedsilver · 17/12/2013 16:16

This, from mango. I haven't figured out tights and shoes/boots/shoeboots yet.

This red dress with opaque black tights. Haven't decided on the shoes, but they'll be black.

17leftfeet · 17/12/2013 16:18

I shall be spending the day in a onsie -but then I'm not hosting Grin

whoneedstosleep · 17/12/2013 16:36

Loving those red dresses.

I'm thinking black sequin skirt, black tights with a more casual top but haven't seen anything I'm 100% happy with.

17leftfeet Boxing Day will be my pj day Xmas Smile

A topshop jumper and skinnies. Jumper is a xmas pressie from dh which he picked out of a few I suggested but I dont know which one.

We're at in laws on the day so will wear it with brown heeled ankle boots.

BunnyLebowski · 17/12/2013 16:43

red velvet dress

with black opaques and heels. And full pin-up hair and makeup.

fairylightsatchristmas · 17/12/2013 16:44

I've got a nice jumper from Oasis, black with a little bit of sparkle on and its very light, almost crochet so won't be too warm for cooking in. Don't know what with though..

BunnyLebowski · 17/12/2013 16:45

Ballsed up my link - This dress!

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 17/12/2013 16:50

Short straight black (chunky) lace skirt from Urban Outfitters (which they don't seem to have anymore).

But I don't have a top to go with it. Would like something a bit sheer, perhaps with a bit of sparkle, so if anyone has seen anything suitable I'd be grateful for the pointer!

Probably with opaque tights and black high heeled knee-high boots.

Frozenatchristmas · 17/12/2013 18:38

Joggers, slippers, jersey. We are going nowhere and we can't wait!

Laska42 · 17/12/2013 18:41

this love it! Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2013 19:00

Love that, Laska.

No idea here, but probably a jumper dress or a tube skirt plus jumper (as both leave lots of room!).

Laska42 · 17/12/2013 19:00

ooh bunny love the dress

LittleBabyPigsus · 17/12/2013 19:11

Doing Midnight Mass not Christmas Day morning church, so my 'outfit' will be mismatched pyjamas Grin Home alone for Christmas Day so nobody will know or care!

Ladyglamalot · 17/12/2013 19:32

The Delilah dress in navy velvet from Collectif with seamed tights and red or dead glitter mary janes.

JimbosJetSet · 17/12/2013 19:42

SmartArse - I found a sheer, silvery-blue top with a bit of sparkle in Oasis, would that suit you?

Laska42 · 17/12/2013 19:44

have these sparkly ballerinas also - like slippers as ill be indoors !!

guanosoup · 17/12/2013 19:50

I'll be wearing a rather fetching navy blue tunic with matching trousers, black lace ups and topped off with a tinsel tiara.

When I get home from work, I am going to get into my pyjamas and gorge on xmas dinner (cooked by dh) Grin

Laska42 · 17/12/2013 19:50

ladyglamalotsdress I love it in the green.. Luckily they dont have my size Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/12/2013 19:52

We clearly have similar taste, Laska - I have a version of those shoes, but mine are studded. They are my, "Rip the heels off because it's time to dance to The Killers" shoes.
