I am taking mine to Greece this year and is v.relaxed holiday with dp in a family type resrot and I have straight hair! I like to get a bit dressed up in the evening.

charmkin · 17/07/2006 20:26

yesyesyes

i don't know how i lived before hair straighteners.

I always think at weekends, Oh I'll leave it au naturelle and not bother

by half ten I am upstairs straightening away, having frizzy hair is too distressing but I hate how long it takes

charmkin · 17/07/2006 20:28

am now concerned that I am shallow person for having such a pathetic dilemma

then realised that all these other people also think about stuff like that and we are shallow together so that's ok. Power to the sisterhood

poisson · 17/07/2006 20:28

god me too charmy
i wanted to liberate myself form it
but hey ho

No - don't think I will as I have discovered John Friedas Dream Curls - so will be curly in the summer without frizz !

crunchie · 17/07/2006 21:00

no never, don't take a hairdryer either! But then again I don't normally dry my leave, I leave it to dry naturally every day, only do it for posh occassions (like once in the last month!) I have long wavy hair which is IN atm

expatinscotland · 17/07/2006 21:02

i take hair straightners everywhere. i have ghd's. took 'em to our self-catering cottage and my mum liked 'em so much she bought herself some when she got home.

FrannyandZooey · 17/07/2006 21:04

I liberated myself from hair straighteners and kidded myself it looked fine natural. Then went to visit my SIL, as we were getting ready to go out to a restaurant she just popped her head round the door and said "I've left the straighteners on for you in the hall"

I take mine because I have more time to do things like paint nails, straighten hair etc when on hols, and I enjoy it. I think the question is, do you care what your hair looks like in the photos? Or just how happy you were?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 17/07/2006 21:05

im going camping tomorrow and taking my GHD's

poisson · 17/07/2006 21:15

I also take mine camping, so civilised trip to Greece - no shame there.

expatinscotland · 17/07/2006 21:19

i know better than to travel w/no blow dryer or straighteners.

the days when i could get away w/that are llllooonnnggg gone.

Thomcat · 17/07/2006 21:20

I'd rather leave hair to dry nturally and then straighten it before going out rather than sittig under hairdryer.

WideWebWitch · 17/07/2006 21:21

God no, I don't care whether my hair is straight if it's just us, they love me whatever. Sure yours do too Ms Fish.

Miriam2 · 18/07/2006 09:23

Definitely take. My hair is a flat wavy (can it be both? Yes!) mess if I let it dry normally and don't straighten. On holiday you get a nice tan, wear your nice once-a-year holiday things, why wouldn't you want your hair to look nice too? TBH would rather not take hairdrier, let hair dry naturally (while sipping glass chilled wine) and then straighten.

Enid · 18/07/2006 09:27

YES if you use them regularly

I always get there and wish I had brought more 'glamming' things as women in Europe often more soignee than us lot

take them at the bottom of suitcase and don't unpack unless desperate!

Enid · 18/07/2006 09:28

yes as Miriam says I always feel very attractive on holiday and wish had brought revealing dress/hair dryer/yummy bubble bath whatever
