OMG....yes!!

There are very few photos of me in existence and there would be even less if I went on hols without them.

And anyway my hair looks shit without them

expatinscotland · 18/07/2006 09:38

You could always espouse the Grace Kelly scarf look whilst on holiday.

Holidays, IMO, are the perfect excuse to spend time on yourself, that's why I love the self-catering/gite holiday where you can bring along all your glamming acoutrements and get smartened up.

BonyM · 18/07/2006 09:39

No! Holidays are for relaxing, and hair straightening just takes too much time!

I usually tie mine back - looks much more glamorous/sexy according to dh!

jampots · 18/07/2006 09:40

yes without a doubt. A straight mummy is a happy mummy

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 09:40

no fgs

when it is hot you don't want Scouse Hair waffting about

put it up in a ponytail

or leave to dry au natrel like those of us with natural curls

Bozza · 18/07/2006 09:42

I generally take them and then end up not using them. Tend to go for a more natural hair look (that's my terminology anyway) on holiday. And it is just so hot without heating your hair up.

Bozza · 18/07/2006 09:43

Mine is generally curlier on holiday because of the heat. I then pile it up in some loose style or whatever.

leander · 18/07/2006 09:47

yes definately take them,Have you ever seen that episode of Friends when Monica is in Barbados with HUGE hair well thtas me if i dont use hair straightners, have tried to go au nateral but just can seem to pull off the tousled look.

Clary · 18/07/2006 09:50

OK poisson here's the thing.
I don't even iron on holiday.
And I love ironing.
But I am hols fgs. So my answer is nononono

However I see I am in the minority. I don't even hairdry my hair at home.

lol at Monica frizzy look. I am sure cod doesn't look like that!

Kelly1978 · 18/07/2006 09:54

yes. I never blow dry my hair but have to straighten it. If I left it for a week or two it would look chronic by the end of it. I want to look nice eating out etc.
is this the same fish taht insists on full makeup for the school run?

earlgrey · 18/07/2006 09:55

No. You look tousled and sexy.

Clary · 18/07/2006 09:56

sorry leaander I see you say you do look like monica! Can't be that bad can it?
I have straight hair tho (admit it does look nicer with straighteners but cannot be bovvered actually

southeastastra · 18/07/2006 10:21

i am amazed that everyone is so reliant on hair straighteners

CountessDracula · 18/07/2006 10:43

yes of course

Just because you are in greece doesn't mean you can get away with looking like this

puddle · 18/07/2006 10:45

No. I tend to wash my hair at the end of every day on hols so would be contantly drying and straightening it. I wash it and put it up/ tie it back/ wear a scarf etc.

don't quite get the mad hair straightener craze
but I do take my hairdryer with me (only partially dry my hair and then leave it to finish on its own as it suits it better that way)
I think hols are the perfect time to look good and glam, especially with a bit of a tan

Yes, the humidity makes it essential otherwise I look like Crystal Tips ....

Uwila · 19/07/2006 08:41

Yes, don't leave my house for more than 24 hours without them.
