Anyone else love brown clothes but can't find them anywhere?

I have auburn hair, fair skin and freckles. Much as I think black looks great on other people it doesn't really suit me. I look ten times better in brown and a few years back I could find cords, cashmere jumpers and cardigans etc quite easily.

This year - and last year - there seems to be none of it around at all Sad Anyone else feel the same and maybe has had more luck than me?

Those of you who love brown, are you all "Autumns" by any chance??

PublicEnemyNumeroUno · 30/11/2013 21:21

I'm also looking for brown stuff, mainly tops/jumpers/jackets to go with the lovely brown shoe-boots I bought.

I just go on ebay and type "brown size 8" into the search bar and see what comes up

I haven't been analysed. I think I'm either a soft summer or a soft autumn but my clothes are almost all brown/beige/moss green/ plum/ teal, so if I'm a Summer I'm doing it wrong.

Milly I've never been to a colour specialist but I'm pretty sure I'm an Autumn tbh.

For those who've had it done - is it worth having your colours analysed professionally? I already think I know what suits me .. would it expand my ideas of what colours to try?

TheSurgeonsMate you have summed up my feelings exactly! When I try on brown clothes everything just feels exactly right and I think "Oh, I remember now - this is me!" I resolve never to buy black again (but then I do because there's nothing else in the shops) Does that make sense?

I'm sure I'm an Autumn, I haven't been analysed in detail but I can wear brown, orange, mustard, olive green, what most people would call dreadful colours TBH! Just not camel for some reason.

Im an Autumn . There is a thread on MN for Autumns which you might find helpful for furthering your education into your colours. Its brilliant.

Thanks Milly what an excellent thread. Have only read two pages so far but will revisit and read more tomorrow. Feel even more resolved to abandon black and stick with what really suits me from now on.

For those who've had their colours done, can I ask who is good? I've heard of House of Colour but believe there are others around. DH is stuck what to get me for Christmas and would be happy to stump up for this I'm sure.

Ooooo that sounds a lovely present high. I havnt had mine done but know I am an Autumn. Gold light blond hair, dark green eyes, warm skin tone and freckles everywhere. The thread is good isn't it.

My Mr Hanky Coat arrived and I'm ver' ver' pleased with it.

Just need some cold weather now to wear it.
