My Bayswater is fake... but better made than the real thing. Do I wear it?

Bought the baby secondhand and he is lovely, heavenly rich Oak leather, matches the Mulberry website in every teeny tiny detail except for a missing Made In Tag. Just got him verified on the Purse Forum and apparently he - the bag - is fake.

But I've got other Mulberry bags and, frankly, this one is better made, is anything. So am I being Style Unreasonable to carry on wearing it? I think not, but tell me if I am being achingly naff.

I don't 'get' the designer handbag thing, as will be clear from my next statement... But if you think it looks good and it's not going to fall to bits, whyever wouldn't you use it? Are other people going to closely examine it and proclaim it a fake, in a loud shrieking voice and pointing a quivering angry finger in your face?

If the purseforum identified the bag as being fake, I suspect loads of other people will too.
I have no doubt the quality is better (as Mulberry's quality is crap) - but that doesn't really change the fact that the bag is fake.

Counterfeit items are well-known for being linked to terrorist groups as well as groups that also deal with drugs, child prostitution and human trafficking. If I were you, I'd try my best to get my money back.

Fake designer bags aren't cheap. I would just buy a bag from a 'normal' shop and save the embarrassment.

I suppose it has a lot to do with whether you got the bag because you like the way it looks or purely because of the company that made it (or you thought they had). To a lot of people, there's no such thing as a fake bag - you can put stuff in it and carry around. A 'fake' bag would be made out of gas with a hole in the bottom.
