. . . or something. So have met a nice chap and we are on date 4 (or could it even be 5?) and I have worn the same dress (a short red jumper thing) three times and a very small tartan skirt with a bright blue leather jacket another time. I never look nice :( I don't know how to, I live in jeans or jodhpurs or worse but I love dresses. But not sparkly scratchy ones or long ones or high heels. Or anything that needs a lot of care. Date said I reminded him of 'that evil woman from Harry Potter', ok so luckily he meant Bellatrix Lestrange not that short fat pink woman with the kittens and he meant it as a compliment but is still not a very polished look for a woman of 42 is it? So this is what I am up against. :(

Need some stuff to wear when we go out, or if it doesn't work out with this one I will probably try some other dates as am enjoying it so far. I bought a reindeer dress from Peacocks but why did I do that? Please help me if you think you can. Thanks

ah, ME I know it says it's a top but do you think it could be just about long enough as a dress? love it in both colours

is only £20!

how to bankrupt myself by barely perceptible increments

oh look at the one with owls on!

are they nice in real life, true to size do you know?

Yes they a lovely in real life but the 'floaty' chiffon ones sometimes have a bit too much material if you know what I mean! The knitted woollen type ones wash and wear well. Also pussycat London has similar styles and joe brown are nice too - haven't bought from there as a bit too expensive for me though!

Mitchy1nge · 23/11/2013 17:02

anglomania and uniqlo dresses have arrived

anglomania dress is NOT what was pictured, totally different colour and slightly (not very) different shape

am a bit cross - it is nice but that is not the point.

I get Joe Brown things in the post yet have never ordered, probably one of my children has at some point. They had some scary looking coats last time I looked.

Am GRUMPY about green dress. It is the green of a bright young Christmas tree and not the soft, bluey sage colour I saw on the website. Fuckers.

What about the uniqlo one, how short is it? I am tempted!

Dilidali · 23/11/2013 17:16

Just spotted is dry clean only!

Mitchy1nge · 23/11/2013 17:36

uniqlo scratchy itchy dry clean only dress (grr) is a very modest inch or so above the knee

am not exactly in love with it but am wearing it now anyway for an emergency wine run, it's huge, either am getting Very Thin or is just designed to be utterly shapeless - it needs a belt or something, is just a long vague column of nothing much at all

the neckline is horrible

am getting hard to please or tired and irritable or both

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 23/11/2013 17:38

cannot even wear to wine shop, itchy as actual fuck

Oh dear! Too good to be true for £20, hmm.....
Have you got a www.lovelinksblink.com/index.php?cPath=99_108 Blink near you? Quite cheap and quirky :)

Dilidali · 23/11/2013 20:59

blink

Mitchy1nge · 24/11/2013 20:13

I like the wrap dress with the sort of brown missoni ish print, everything seems to be £0, how does it work? :)

I didn't find the Uniqlo dress itchy - I'm quite surprised as I'm quite an itchy person scratches.

What size did you get because I started with a small which was enormous & got an XS, which once I'd washed it, (bugger dry cleaning I just hand-washed it) is now nice and neat fitting.

I hand wash all my Uniqlo knitwear including cashmere & it's fine.

Mitchy1nge · 24/11/2013 20:36

xs, I don't think they had other sizes in navy

will try washing it then, thanks for tip - but the reason it was SO unbearable to wear was because I had a severe chafing incident on my run earlier, where my trusty 'ultimate run' shock absorber had carefully removed many layers of skin on my shoulder blades and a big area in the middle of the top of my back where there is an extra fastening, poor me :( it is scabbing now but was raw and weepy yesterday evening.

Am not usually bothered by itchy woolly things at all. Only scratchy nylon stuff irritates me.

I am the glamorous face (or back) of long distance running Confused

Oh no poor you, can you cover it with something?

I washed it warm to shrink it a bit, but it's not bodycon...

Have you checked out Asos & La Redoute?

Mitchy1nge · 25/11/2013 11:30

no, I will try not to look at either of them just yet though - the postie brought a big cardboard box from The Outnet this morning, haven't looked inside yet but there seem to be lots of new dresses all over the house Grin
