It looks great, why do you think it might be too young? It's frilly but the black stops it from being 'little girly'.

Bunbaker · 21/11/2013 07:24

No. I don't like it but it wouldn't make me think someone else shouldn't wear it.

CuntyBunty · 21/11/2013 07:30

I want it and would wear it if I was smaller of nork. Wear it and enjoy it, it's gorgeous and quirky, rather than young. Just the look I like.

MrsKoala · 21/11/2013 08:52

Oh i love it. I am 37 (size 12 and good legs) and would wear it in a heartbeat. In fact i have an xmas party to go to and i may buy it.

My only concern for me would be that I am 5ft 10in, do you think it may be indecently short on me?

princessalbert · 21/11/2013 08:53

It's gorgeous! If you have the legs then definitely get it!!

princessalbert · 21/11/2013 08:54

MrsKoala I imagine the model in the pic is about that height too.

I really like it. Your not too old for it!
It's quirky but at the same time looks good. Go for it!

PantsInWash · 21/11/2013 09:39

Go for it - it looks fabulous! If I had an occasion to wear something similar, I would (and I'm 48 Sad)

GetOrfOhSodOff · 21/11/2013 09:40

I don't like it at all, but of course you're not too old for it.

LittleTulip · 21/11/2013 09:54

You're not too old for it

But I don't like it. Looks a bit Adams Family Morticia

GetOrfOhSodOff · 21/11/2013 09:59

I think it looks a bit Abigail's party or Penelope Keith from the Good Life.

BUT I don't like frills and flounces, that's just my personal taste, I think it's a perfect dress for someone in their late 30s.

MrsKoala · 21/11/2013 10:32

I personally would prefer it if it was Abigails Party orange or a pink like Margo Leadbetter would wear. I think it would look great in a pucci pattern too - the only thing wrong with it for me is the colour. I like this one too and it's a more interesting colour - i may order both and see what i think when on! My mum thinks it would be way too short on me tho :( Curse my tallness.

DuckToWater · 21/11/2013 10:34

No, it's lovely. I would wear/would have worn it it at 20 or 38.

DuckToWater · 21/11/2013 10:37

Would look great with black opaque tights with a silver sheen on them and silver or black shoes. You could wear a brooch with it or have something in your hair.

MrsKoala · 21/11/2013 10:45

i think black opaques would ruin (they ruin it on the model) the look. They really tone down the prettiness of the edging when it sits on the thigh. I would will wear it with nude sheeny tights and red heels and a red clutch. Not sure about jewellery tho hmmm.

Bonsoir · 21/11/2013 10:46

I hate black dresses! It's truly vile!

Branleuse · 21/11/2013 10:48

fabulous

Missbopeep · 21/11/2013 11:00

Depends when you 'd wear it. It's quite OTT imo, with all the frills and it's not the kind of dress again imo that you could wear often. I don't think you are too old but I don't like it that much- it's very 'girly' and not that great. sorry :(

Missbopeep · 21/11/2013 11:02

I think they have overdone the frills- sleeves OR hemline would be lovely, but both is overkill.

HappyHugs · 21/11/2013 11:06

Thank you all, what a diverse bunch we are. Its a love/hate thing for this dress. I dont see the frills as girly, more quirky imo but its interesting that thats how others see it.
