This morning we wnt to our church garden party and there was a woman there with her 2 kids who looked gorgeous. Not particlarly trendy, just very stylish I thought.

She had on pale pink wide legged linned trousers, flip flops, white vest type thing and a gorgeous light blue cropped denim jacket.

She had Chanel shades and mulberry bag

Northerner · 08/07/2006 14:08

linen trousers

MrsJohnCusack · 08/07/2006 14:10

I'm going into the throbbing heart that is Whitton high street after the tennis. No chance of seeing anybody stylish there, will be full of old ladies still dressed in winter coats (It's 25 degress, why do they do it????), scary tracksuited teenagers with optional England flag/bubblegum pink prams and skinheaded yoofs with tatts.
WIll keep my eyes peeled though, however don't neccesarily want to see anyone too stylish as they will make me look even worse.....today I will be mostly wearing a long brown Per Una linen skirt and a black linen top with my sparkly brown sequinned wedge espadrilles. I expet they think I'm a total frump

poisson · 08/07/2006 16:31

norhterner so it was an " accessories truiumph" moment then?

I've just been too blinded by incredibly bad fake tans this week to notice peoples clothes.

Never have I seen so many orange stripey women as I did the other day on a shopping trip. I think I would have to hibernate until it faded if that happened to me.

MrsBadger · 08/07/2006 17:31

pub last night - everyone wearing either work clothes (ie poorly-fitting polyester trouser suits) or skintight cropped jeans, cheap hair extensions and bulging puppy fat. Did see a pair of the New Look minnie-mouse shoes, but the rest of the outfit was a washout.

town this afternoon - same jeans/extensions/belly combinations, harassed mums in shapeless fleece and tracksuit bottoms, old ladies in hairy coats and Rooney shirts a-go-go. There was a wedding just coming out of the church in the marketplace and I wanted to wait to critique their style but DH told me I was embarassing and dragged me away .

Am holding out hopes for the cinema tonight or, failing that, Tesco tomorrow. If still nothing will hang around outside Waitrose as people come back from church - always a winner.

I do not live in the most stylish of towns.

Northerner · 08/07/2006 17:34

Yes Cod - I'm a great beleiver in acessories. TRinny & S reckon women have enough clothes but we need to but more acessories to make and change our outfits.

poisson · 08/07/2006 20:53

oh god OYU LOT WE SO NEED TO FIND SOMEONE
AM OFF TO WAITROSE INT E MORNING BUT FEEL IT MAY LAL BE HANGOVERS

MrsJohnCusack · 08/07/2006 20:54

well, there was nothing in Whitton High Street, as predicted

am off to Chiswick tomorrow though, may do rather better there I think!

puff · 08/07/2006 21:05

ok, it was a bloke in Waitrose car park.

He was wearing:

stone coloured lined trousers, same colour linen jacket and a white t shirt underneath, plus brown deck shoes. Looked v good in that effortlessy expensive but crumpled way.

harpsichordcarrier · 08/07/2006 21:06

OK my outfit de jour
long line green top with that empire line in and out thing. eau de nil I'd say.
cream crop linen trousers
gold beaded ballet pumps
sunglasses in head all day
little bit blingy but fab

poisson · 08/07/2006 21:07

I just saw a lot of old mingers

V disappointing

If I see someone nice I am usually just cast down in envy at their body, and don't notice what they are wearing. Actually, did see loads of big knockered tiny waisted women, who were obviously just sent to earth to taunt me

poisson · 08/07/2006 21:13

cos you are sooooooo fat

FrannyandZooey · 08/07/2006 21:16

pardon? Are you addressing me you mad old fish?

Blondilocks · 08/07/2006 21:21

I went out shopping today and saw lots of people but didn't know of this game until now so as I didn't really notice any specific outfits I'll go back to the outfits at the pub last night:

I think the best outfit would have to be my best mate's one. She was wearing black trousers and black vest top under a funky green shirt with a tie up detail to the back. She had on high-heeled sandals & long earrings with green stones and a silver bracelet with blue/green stones. So pretty co-ordinated! She is tiny though so looks fab in everything.

There was also a lady wearing a nice silky looking green top and linen trousers, which looked quite nice.

The worst outfit would have to be too tight jeans & a very very clingy top on some random person there.

Funnily enough we were playing this game in the pub.

There was a group of girls there who looked far too young to be drinking - but they were 18. EEEk does this make me really old?

southeastastra · 08/07/2006 21:32

ok i saw someone dressed in a short puff sleeve pale brown check western shirt with black combatty type trousers, and wedge sandals - it just looked cool

harpsichordcarrier · 08/07/2006 21:35

I saw loads of lovely gold and sparkly ballet slippers today. some really nice beaded ones. am almost converted.
almost
I quite like those short sleeve western shirts, there are some nice ones in New Look but think may be too muttony and busty to pull it off. will look like cheap cowgirl/whore

krabbiepatty · 08/07/2006 22:30

Do I win, do I win? Today in the Princess of Wales memorial playground, I saw, wait for it......
TRINNY
She was waering:
Silvery-grey wrap dress in a silky material that clung to her fried eggs (in a good way)
Pas de brassiere
A small baguettish silver bag
Some sort of beady flipflops
And a small girl.
So do I win?

krabbiepatty · 08/07/2006 22:36

Ok, it wasn't all that, do I win anyway?

poisson · 09/07/2006 15:33

I saw a lady on the 66 bus yeterday who was wearing the following:-

Cream linen trousers
Dark brown fitted v-neck t shirt, with same colour semi-fitted linen shirt worn open over the top
Cream bag
peachy cream mules
bronzey colour necklace with large pendant thing on
Small drop earrings with amber coloured stones
peachy coloured nail varnish on finger and toenails
pair of nice looking sunglasses

And all of this really suited her colouring, and she had nice haircut etc.
