What the hell am I supposed to get?

First wedding on 22nd, then 29th.

Hate pastel anything and suits and girly shoes and silly small bags. Hats etc.

Can I get a yellow and black swishy number from Whistles and wear flat shoes?

Can't get pic of Whistles dress as their site is down (grr) but sounds fine to me.
Some v pretty flats about and no need for hat if good hairdo. Teeny bag uneccesary also, just don't use kitchen-sink laptop / work / nappy bag.

Can you wear same outfit for both or is it same posse?

Tinker · 04/07/2006 13:28

Yes.

Have same dilemma.

oliveoil · 04/07/2006 13:31

The dress is in the sale but is still £89!

But at least I want it rather than buying under duress.

Am wearing same outfit to both.

Tsk.

They have some nice things in Coast but all strapless and would be worn once. I thinketh not.

Oh, do it, OO.

Bloody weddings.

nailpolish · 04/07/2006 13:32

olive, i was wedding-get-up shopping the other day. spent hours trying on dresses/pastel suits/sparkly sandals, etc

eventually, after much swearing and stomping, i got a gorgeous pair of black city shorts, on the knee, a black, dressy, lace shirt, very high yellow peep toes, yellow clutch bag and cool yellow long beads

Dingle is going to make me something cool and funky to put in my hair

i dont care a jot all the other girls are wearing strappy flowery dresses and lilac matching accessories

wear what you like girl

Tinker · 04/07/2006 13:32

Well, it's really only £45 then

MrsBadger · 04/07/2006 13:33

£89 and reduced? for two weddings?
bargain

get in there with my blessing

crunchie · 04/07/2006 13:34

Defineatly who says weddings should be pastel suits and hats????

I love silly girly shoes, but would always wear something I like, not have to have. Don't mind hats though I have one or two that get rolled out in case, but prefer nice hairdo IYKWIM

I really resent paying a bomb for wedding clothes, therefore I don't !!!!

oliveoil · 04/07/2006 13:36

ooooh, bring it on girls, this is what I want to hear!

I think I would be very peeved if I went as a cake accesory and spent £££££ and saw someone dressed how I wanted to be dressed.

I am masquerading as a Roman emperor today (flat strappy sandals and a grecian type dress) and I feel so comfy.

link to whistles swishy no.?

bluejelly · 04/07/2006 13:37

FOund great dress in Monsson after much wedding outfit panicking.

Will try and find a pic but it is kind of a wrap dress, chiffony, slightly 1940s and with a subtle spotty pattern...

Perfect wedding outfit, great on the hips and the stomach and and also good for smart work things

£85 and will definitely wear a lot

MrsBadger · 04/07/2006 13:40

this one bluejelly?

if so tis fab - saw lots of people wearing at the weekend and they all looked good in it, which is a mark of a v flattering thing.

bluejelly · 04/07/2006 13:41

Oh dear it's not on their online page

bluejelly · 04/07/2006 13:42

No Mrs B it's a bit different to that, sort of grey with darker grey spots
That one is nice though

niceglasses · 04/07/2006 13:42

oliveoil · 04/07/2006 13:44

I once wemt to a wedding and a woman was dressed head to toe in bright yello with sewn on daffodils on her dress.

Least you won't look as bad as her.

MrsBadger · 04/07/2006 14:10

[spray] at the Pastel Suit Brigade - all stepping out togther in their lilac sandals swinging their delicate bags.

(I am skulking at the back in my faithful black linen dress and a spectacular hat.)
