What the hell am I supposed to get?

First wedding on 22nd, then 29th.

Hate pastel anything and suits and girly shoes and silly small bags. Hats etc.

Can I get a yellow and black swishy number from Whistles and wear flat shoes?

wear huge shades and everyone will think you are making a statement

they will whisper "who is that gorgeous creature wearing black?"

oliveoil · 04/07/2006 14:20

Snort, they will not.

They will say 'who is that woman in the hideous bright dress and those unruly brats?'

Well if he's in Versace dahhling how will you compete?

I think a nice dress.

Northerner · 04/07/2006 14:22

My mother would be horrified if I wore black to a wedding. Co cream/white/ivory eiether - don't want you upstaging teh bride.

nailpolish · 04/07/2006 14:22

mother always told me "wear black to a wedding and everyone will think you are an ex of the groom"

OO I have a v. smart wedding at the weekend and am wearing white linen trousers, gorgeous dark beige coloured wrap shirt type top with white and silver embroidery, silver wedges and Bianca Jagger style white floppy hat from Accessorise (well it is at Chelsea Reg office). I hate weddings where everyone is in pastel suits - we all look so old fashioned in them. Think you can get away with much more fashiony stuff nowadays

I've got a wedding in 2 weeks time and another at the end of August. Problem is I'm 34 weeks pregnant at moment so whatever I end up with will have to do for both. I suppose I'll still have a 'baby bump' though as if I remember correctly from ds, it doesn't magically disappear once you have given birth! I will be going in black and cream, black culottes and a cream strappy top with black spots on and a ribbon around the top of the bump (from Evans). I don't care what other people will say - it's the only decent thing I have found that fits me and doesn't look like a bin bag!
